Freaky or Fabulous: Georgina Chapman Poses With Exotic Animals

We can't help but be amused by the oxymoron between the ethereal gowns Georgina Chapman creates for Marchesa and the dark nature of her photo shoot for Harper's Bazaar, shot by by Peter Lindbergh. Channeling the energy of the brand's muse — European socialite Marchesa Lusia Casati — Chapman dressed up to look like Casati with fluffy hair and a moody makeup palette. But what really catches our attention are the writhing snakes and cheetahs pictured with Chapman. It's definitely a side of Marchesa we're not used to seeing; do you think it's freaky or fabulous?

I agree with SweetFirefly. I like the concept and the photos, but I don't like the idea of a leopard (or any wild animal) being used in a photo shoot. It's called a "wild" animal for a reason.

as long as the animals were treated well - i LOVE it. i think that the leopard is amazing, and the clothes are fab as well. :) i love creative artsy things like this

I chose other because I believe in animals living in the appropriate environment. I don't believe in animals being used for a photo shoot.

I don't know anything about the muse or read the article closely, so my mistake! I'd still like to see more variety when it comes to animal shoots in general though.

There wouldn't be a hippo because this editorial is based on a real person and this is relavent to that. They didn't pick random animals for the ed.

I think in terms of art these photos look amazing, but I don't know, something about a cheetah being used for a fashion photo shoot bothers me. I'm sure PETA would have something to say about this...

Ditto, aimeeb. Snakes, big cats... They're great but how about throwing in a... hippo (or something else)? :D Generally It would be cool to see a different animals. I feel like snakes and big cats are always used.

Like Baylee said, if it's supposed to be Marchesa Luisa Casati, you have to use animals like that or it doesn't make sense.

Marchesa Luisa Casati, as the muse of the brand was a woman just like this. Real snakes as jewellery and wild animals as pets.. I think this photo shoot makes more sense when the background's considered.
