For Giambattista Valli's Spring '13 collection, the designer showed off his impeccable tailoring skills through a mix of gorgeous embellished dresses and more modern separates, ultimately providing options for the woman who takes her day from the office to cocktail parties. For daywear, Valli highlighted clean cut separates - ankle crop trousers paired with chic vests, tailored jumpsuits, wrap skirts, and peplum blazers - emoting a minimal, yet elegant effect. Meanwhile, the designer showed a more risqué approach with his array of sheer dresses leaving quite little to the imagination. Some of them featured a thick hemline while others showed gorgeous floral appliqué embroidery. We especially loved the sheer white sheath dresses cinched in with a matching slim leather belt. More details from the collection below.

  • Trends: Sheer layers, crop tops, peplum.
  • Colors: White. red, gray, black, pale yellow, gold.
  • Key Piece: The sheer floral embellished dresses were gorgeous.
  • Accessories: Metallic point-toe pumps, leather clutches, modern metallic cuffs and necklaces.
  • Who Should Wear It: Who's looking for ladylike looks with a twist? Jessica Biel, Zoe Saldana, and Emma Stone come to mind.

Take Your Look From Femme Fatale to Ethereal — the Jessica Biel Way

Jessica Biel not only made the Total Recall rounds in NYC yesterday, she did so with a dichotomous styling approach.

Jessica Biel not only made the Total Recall rounds in NYC yesterday, she did so with a dichotomous styling approach. First, the brunette beauty stopped by The Daily Show With Jon Stewart in an animal-print Giambattista Valli cocktail dress (we're obsessed with the sweet tulip skirt silhouette) with a Fendi 2jours shopper and black Casadei pumps. By letting the longer skirt hem and quarter-length sleeves offset the exotic pattern and accentuating inseams, her look offered up a more sophisticated take on sexier ensembles. Then, Jessica switched gears, wearing an ethereal sleeveless white lace creation from Elie Saab's Spring 2012 Couture collection to the film's screening. In a nod to modest-meets-romantic dressing, she also added a delicate lace shawl to match. Her gold Elie Saab clutch and textured Jimmy Choo pumps injected a glamorous feel, but in no way interrupted the ultrafeminine vibe. One evening, two distinct dresses, and three key styling strategies to get you there, the Jessica Biel way — read below for quick tips on transforming your evening vibe from sexy to sweet, and vice versa.

  • It's all in the texture. Notice how Jessica really nails each vibe via dress texture. In her first appearance, she opted for a sultry animal print — instantly giving off a more vixenish appeal. In her second appearance, she's every bit the sweet style setter in white lace. Sure, lace can be sexy, too, but not when it's worn modestly and in the most ethereal shade of crisp, clean white. The bottom line: you can set the tone of each look just by utilizing texture correctly. It's not always about going the overt styling route.
  • Go for classic accents. When switching modes, you want to be able to work with what you've got. Not all of us have a pair of stilettos and clutch in every shade in our closets, but the main thing is to keep a good rotation of classics in your going-out arsenal. A nude pump will always work well with a more feminine silhouette. A black pump will work well with basically everything, but for our purposes, it will certainly put a slick spin on sultrier dresses.
  • The ultimate twofer. You want to make it even simpler? Invest in a tailored LWD. For girlier nights out, pair the look with a neutral-toned heel and a scallop-edged clutch. Then, give it a sexy upgrade with your black pumps, a little black eyeliner, and a bold red lip. You can have it both ways.

Margherita Missoni married her race car driver fiancé Eugenio Amos over the weekend in a flower-covered white silk Missoni gown created with Giambattista Valli's advice — or as she tweeted, "couture counseling." Later, she changed into a pale pink version of the same dress for the star-studded reception. "The dress was made by the women who saw me growing up, following my precise directions," she wrote.

The couple exchanged vows at the church of Santa Maria Annunciata in Brunello, Italy, where Tatiana Santo Domingo, Eugenie Niarchos, and Teresa Missoni served as bridesmaids. Afterward, a group of guests including Carine Roitfeld, Franca Sozzani, Charlotte Olympia Dellal, Mario Testino, Suzy Menkes, and Derek Blasberg headed to Angela Missoni's nearby estate for the reception. Fabiola Beracasa tweeted a picture of the wedding lunch, where guests dined al fresco seated on Missoni-patterned cushions. Before the celebration ended, the couple cut into a heart-shaped cake. It was, as Lauren Santo Domingo tweeted the "Best. Wedding. Ever."

Ocelot spots, tropical leaves, and floral paisley patterns dominated the prints in Giambattista Valli's urban jungle-themed Resort 2013 collection. But while the prints were animalistic, the clothes were a great deal more refined: a slim white coatdress was trimmed with a delicately ruffled white lapel, while multiprint sheath dresses got updated with short peplums. Valli's customary floor-length, one-shoulder evening gowns made appearances and so did an assortment of very short shorts. Perfect for keeping cool in the city — or in the jungle for that matter.

Amy Adams went for a refined retro vibe in a one-shouldered black-and-white Giambattista Valli number. Tonight's red-carpet ensemble is just further proof that she's nailed that stunning balance between an old-school Veronica Lake movie star and a Disney princess á la Enchanted. While the sweeping floor-length gown spoke for itself, we have to point out her awesome gold bow-tie belt — a perfectly ladylike-cum-quirky accent that provided a gilded boost to the outfit as a whole. She finished off the look with Brian Atwood sandals, Fred Leighton jewelry, and a Judith Leiber clutch. Are you a fan?

Olivia Palermo confirmed that light denim, usually reserved for more casual looks, can also work on the red carpet when she styled hers with a sparkling sequin blazer at the HBO premiere of Girls. The fashion-forward beauty layered her gray sequin French Connection topper over a white silk blouse and cuffed denim skinnies, then slid on a pair of colorful cap-toe Giambattista Valli pumps for instant glam. Glistening diamond stud earrings, a gold caged bracelet, and a blue ostrich Dior bag rounded out her polished look perfectly. To dress up your light denim, style it with a sequin jacket like Olivia did, or work your blazer with dark denim for a less casual approach to this fabulous look.
