Global Trend New York Fashion Week Fall 2012

Hey, it's Allison McNamara and you're watching Fab Flash. In today's New York Fashion Week trend report, we're highlighting all of the global influences we saw on the fall 2012 runways. This season, designers were captivated by foreign destinations. Alchezara found inspiration in Morocco showing silk baju for cargo pant, tapestry prints and rows of dangling coins. It adorned everything from belts to hemlines. Dragon bone took us to India via blanket striped jacket, moody eye cap print and heavy woven layer, cinched at the waist with thick belt. Several designers found inspiration from the far east. Jason Woo looked to his Chinese roots and took us on a elegant sartorial journey, filled with military influence to be a double-breasted blazers, and gave an ode to the Ching Dynasty with traditional Chinese dress silhouettes made modern with lace applique, and brilliant red hue. Zac Posen's Japanese inspiration was apparent with his oversized origami belt, and kimono-esque separates made new with decadent fabrics like satin and jaquard. Kate Spade looked to the Pala Royal in Paris and used classic Barishian sayings as the basis for her fall collection delivering playful polka dots, sequin colors, and pretty bows. And Mara Hoffman took us down to Mexico with her signature Bohemian print, rich knit and Aztec inspired necklaces. So whether you want to channel a far eastern feel or try out an Indian inspired print get ready to travel the world for Fall 2012.
