Gold Trend New York Fashion Week Fall 2012

Hey it's Allison McNamara and you're watching FabFlash and today we're bringing you our first front report from New York Fashion Week. We're putting the spotlight on all things gold for 2012. Designers like Jason Wu, Derek Lam, and Rachel Zoe, to name a few, went lux for fall, covering everything from gowns to shoes, gold is sure to be a key color next season. Prabal Garung showed a standout liquid looking gown that he edged up with side cutouts. And J. Mendel updated a black and white cut out dress with slick gold sleeves. Rachael Zoe went for total luxury pairing a short gold dress with an oversize white fur jacket. And Monique Lhuillier showed jacket, dresses and casually jumpsuit with a rock 'n roll vibe. Jason Wu debut head-to-toe beauty made fresh, with a navy and gold brocade pattern. Inspired by China, Jason's gold lame pieces had a far eastern flare with beautiful detailing on skirts and dresses. Marc by Marc Jacobs showed very wearable gold separates that can easily be worn for day or night, like this gorgeous gold coat. Another easy way to try out this rich shoe is with accessories. We saw some really cool pointy toe boots at Philip Lim, paired with all black, and shiny lace up oxfords at Derek Lam. You can also try out a statement making clutch or belt ala Diane von Furstenberg. We can't wait to start incorporating this metallic color into our look.
