Gossip Girl Leighton Meester in black BCBG dress at Longchamp party

Fab Body Guide: Dangerous Curves Ahead

13

Leighton Meester's body is smokin', but by no means curvalicious. So why am I using her as a poster child for curves? Because in her BCBG dress, she proves that you don't need major curves to look womanly. Here, her body looks more hourglass-like than usual, thanks to the dramatic racerback bodice of her LBD.

Notice how the straps sit closer in, away from her shoulders, and how the sides dramatically curve below her armpits? That inverted cutout draws in your gaze and makes you picture an hourglass figure. Of course, a body-conscious fit also helps to move this illusion along. Watch out, dangerous curves ahead!

It's not the dress, it's the girl! She's gorgeous. She looks great in anything she wears. Being curvy has nothing to do with weight. Being heavier doesn't instantly make you more curvy. It's about body construction. Leighton may be slim, but she has an emphasized waist. She IS definitely curvy and feminine. And HOT! haha

this is exactly why i never wear racerbacks! emphasizes my curves TOO much

I already have an hourglass figure. Also, I have a top that has that detail. I find that it really emphasize my bust (I'm a natural C-cup). It's really provocative.

I really like the Versace dress underneath the picture of Leighton Meester. I'm the same body type, where i really don't have many curves, i'm just average. So this is a great tip.

Her waist seems to be pretty narrow in proportion to her hips, and I do like how this cut accentuates that.

This actually looks more like a recipe for armpit-fat disaster if you're not really thin. I have a-cups but my armpit flab would be flyin' all over the place in a dress/armscythe cut this way!
