Our gals at GeekSugar spotted a Goyard laptop case that, at $830 a pop, is rubbing some people the wrong way. Gizmodo posted their frustrations with Geeksugar's excitement but we think someone needs to remind them that this is just par for the course. We're talking about a company that has, since 1892, produced leather goods for pets. We're talking about custom-sized dog collars and traveling water bowls and Gizmodo is up in arms about laptop cases? Puhlease. Geeksugar, we feel your enthusiasm. That is one snazzy, albeit pricey, leather good.

Man alive, did I have to see these spankin' new laptop sleeves by Goyard in this month's Vogue right when I am at my most vulnerable — post-Christmas, when all I want to do is shop?
But at $830 each, they're more expensive than many laptops on the market, but I'm still sighing big. Goyard is my fantasy/someday bag maker, and now they've also got my fantasy/someday laptop bag.

Luxury publisher Assouline has teamed up with French trunkmaker Goyard to release a trunk custom-made to store 100 of Assouline's chic photo-biographies on art, fashion, design, and architecture. You can get your Goyard Trunk for the measly price of $20,000. Gotham magazine says, "You're guaranteed a great read as well as a chic tote." Well . . . I'd hope so for 20k. Tell me, if you had the dough, would you like one for yourself?
With only three locations stateside (NY, SF, and LA), the luxe French Goyard line is recognizable, but far from mass market. Known for their leather goods marked with signature Chevron canvas, they expanded to include a pet collection in early 2007. Your most pampered pals can be equipped with gear like a pet carrier to match your fancy luggage, leashes, collars, and harnesses handmade to your specifications, or even this traveling-bowl set. When closed, it looks like a mini suitcase but opens to reveal two stainless-steel bowls that can be removed for cleaning.
