Grosgrain
n. An obvious rib weave fabric, using more yarns to obtain the rib, or a thicker yarn to obtain the rib. Usually manufactured as ribbon and used for surface decoration, ribbons for the hair, or as a fabric belt/sash. Also used in millinery as the inner hatband. Of French origin.
