But of all the many collaborations we saw this year, four stick out for whipping shoppers into a frenzy and generally dominating conversations in 2013. Prabal Gurung and Phillip Lim's collaborations for Target, Catherine Malandrino's work for Kohl's, and Isabel Marant's partnership with H&M were all superlative, and we want you to vote in our poll by Dec. 16 to decide which was your favorite.
When H&M launched its New Orleans flagship store yesterday, style stars Blake Lively and Emma Roberts stepped out to celebrate with the help of The Sunshine Kids, an organization that provides positive support to children with cancer. Dressed in H&M's Spring 2014 collection and Isabel Marant for H&M, Blake and Emma paired their looks for the masquerade with blond waves and fresh-faced makeup. Blake opted for a more tousled look with a pink makeup palette for a more casual, cool look.

Blake Lively made a fashionable appearance at the H&M New Orleans Flagship Store Opening Party in Louisiana on Friday. Blake is spending time in the South, while her husband, Ryan Reynolds, is on location in New Orleans, filming his latest project, Selfless. Also at the event was Emma Roberts, who's likely in Louisiana shooting American Horror Story. Both actresses attended the event with the local chapter of The Sunshine Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and activities to children with cancer. During the visit, Blake and Emma showed off gorgeous beauty looks while posing for pictures with kids and were all smiles while chatting with a group of young girls.
It's the latest in a string of charitable outings for Blake. Last week, she joined her husband, Ryan Reynolds, at a benefit for Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease foundation in NYC. The couple's special night out came after Blake's trip to Washington DC, where the actress spoke to high school students about the film industry. Joining First Lady Michelle Obama, Whoopi Goldberg, and fellow actress Naomie Harris on stage, she answered students' questions about Hollywood and film.
Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Maison Martin Margiela, Lanvin and as of tomorrow Isabel Marant have all done it — so who's next? Now that the latest H&M collaboration is hitting stores we're already hungry for another designer series to be announced.
And as we wait, we can certainly dream! While some of our fantasies are as big as they come (Tom Ford, after all, has touched on the topic of working with H&M and closed the book on the idea . . . for now) others feel like meant-to-be partnerships, like Prada whose quirky sensibility would make for a distinctive and playful pairing. And since we're so enamored with the Olsens' and Victoria Beckham's style, wouldn't their minimalist, tailored aesthetics make a perfect fit with the retailer? Of course, if H&M wanted to take a more dramatic route, they could pursue the romantic stylings of Valentino or dare to walk on the edge with Riccardo Tisci (H&M Bambi sweatshirts, anyone?). Cast your vote for your dream H&M collaboration, or tell us who else you'd like to see in the comments!
We might have been waiting for the Isabel Marant for H&M collection to drop for months, but it only took a matter of hours for the collaboration to sell out. Now, if your first thought is to go to eBay for a savvy score, you might want to think again. With auctions for the iconic embellished jacket escalating to $650 ($250 more than the $399 retail price) and with options to buy the piece instantly for as much as $1,200 plus shipping, at this point, we'd sooner opt for a piece from Isabel Marant's actual collection. That's why we've rounded up our four favorite pieces available right now for you — with not a stitch of clothing over that $650 benchmark. And the best part? There's no online auction anxiety necessary.
Lady Gaga added another big event to her already huge week last night when she helped H&M open the doors of its brand-new flagship store in New York's Times Square. And because it wouldn't really be a Lady Gaga party without props, the singer was sure to use a pair of comically large scissors to cut the ribbon at the store.
For more photos of Lady Gaga putting those scissors to good use and to find out which surprising H&M items she shopped, read on.
We've been talking, writing, and dreaming about Isabel Marant's upcoming collaboration with H&M for six months now, and the pieces will finally land in stores and online today. The shoes, clothes, and accessories will be available in select stores on Nov. 14.
"This collaboration with H&M was a very nice opportunity to redo what I love in my collections and share this love with a wider public," Marant said in a recent video. Marant also talked to us about the collaboration, but largely she's allowed her work to speak for itself. The partnership includes the same kinds of cool clothes her female customers have loved for years, as well as her first efforts for men and tweens.

Maybe the royals really are just like us! As it turns out, we're not the only ones who've fallen hard for Isabel Marant for H&M — Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden made an official visit to Cambridge in a stylish and affordable ensemble that included a very familiar looking jacket and heels. That's because we've had our eyes on them ever since we got our first glimpse of the collection!
Combining the collaboration's textural jacket ($399), tasseled earrings ($25), pendant necklace ($35), and studded suede pumps ($199), did Victoria's early debut of the pieces — the collection doesn't hit stores until Nov. 14 — make you dream of being a princess more than ever?
