Celebrities have been spotted working florals all over the globe, but now they're embracing a new nature-inspired print: palm trees. Carly Rae Jepsen donned a palm-print blazer and matching shorts by Lisa Ho at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, Kate Bosworth worked a nature-inspired H&M dress ($24) with ankle-strap sandals in LA, while Dree Hemingway paired a Proenza Schouler palm tree tee with gray flare denim in NYC. As you can see, this California-cool print adds playfulness to any ensemble, so shop our favorite palm-print pieces to hop on the latest Hollywood trend.
You never know what fashion treasure you'll come away with hunting the sale racks — that's the lesson learned from Kate Bosworth's latest street-style moment.
You never know what fashion treasure you'll come away with hunting the sale racks — that's the lesson learned from Kate Bosworth's latest street-style moment. The actress showed off a cool tropical-print dress, the likes of which we've seen in Spring collections from Altuzarra and Stella McCartney — only this on-trend find is on sale and retails for under $40 at H&M (it's available online for UK shoppers, but head to H&M stores to track it down in the US). Of course, it's not just the dress but how Miss Bosworth adeptly adds in her Alexander Wang tote, Ray-Ban shades, and Summer wedges for a perfectly executed high-low mix.
No more speculation necessary: singer-slash-indie-muse Lana Del Rey will be the face of H&M's Fall 2012 ad campaign worldwide — with a second Winter campaign already in the works.
No more speculation necessary: singer-slash-indie-muse Lana Del Rey will be the face of H&M's Fall 2012 ad campaign worldwide — with a second Winter campaign already in the works. What can we expect from the forthcoming ads? "The mood is very LA noir," said Donald Schneider, the mass retailer's creative director. From the look of it, the spreads take serious cues from Lana's own signature retro-inspired style. We spy a pale pink angora-blend sweater and wax-coated jeans, which certainly prove Fall-worthy and a cool throwback to more nostalgic silhouettes. To top it all off, Lana recorded a cover of "Blue Velvet" for a minifilm that will be released on hm.com on Sept. 19. While this isn't the starlet's first foray into fashion territory — there's a Mulberry bag named after her and she's already graced the cover of British Vogue — it's her first modeling gig and not too shabby a start, at that. Are you excited to see how Lana's old-school vibe translates into H&M's Fall ads?
One of the hottest shoe trends this season are pumps with metallic cap toes. Louis Vuitton's Spring 2012 runway showed off beautiful versions of this must-have shoe, and celebrities including Kristen Stewart, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Solange Knowles have already tested the trend. Today, we're showing you how to make your very own pair — all you need are some heels (use pastel pumps if you really want to emulate the trend), silver spray paint, and tape. Watch this easy DIY right now. On Allison McNamara: H&M top, Lulu Frost necklace from CharmandChain.com.

On the flipside, Mary Katrantzou says she isn't able to do Resort collections because her intricate prints take too long to produce. Update: H&M confirmed Tuesday that rumors of a collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela are true, and said that a collection of accessories and ready-to-wear for men and women will be sold in H&M stores around the world and online starting Nov. 15.
"Maison Martin Margiela is one of the most important and influential fashion houses of the past three decades," said H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch. "I am so excited by this radical collaboration, which will give fashion lovers around the world the chance to wear special pieces by Maison Martin Margiela. This collaboration will be a great and memorable fashion moment."
The French fashion house, which always speaks in the collective "we," issued a statement saying, "The democracy of our fashion has always been at the center of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all."
The Swedish retailer tweeted the announcement with a link to a video of a hand sketching a women's sweater. It added later, "Of course @MMM_Official with H&M collection includes menswear!" with a link to a picture of the same hand sketching a men's car coat. Take a look at both below.
