Hailee Steinfeld, Ashley Greene at Young Hollywood Awards

It's all about who's wearing the pants at the Young Hollywood Awards. Hi, it's Allison MacNamara. Welcome back to Fab Flash. The 2012 Young Hollywood Awards took place last evening and two of our favorite style setters impressed us with their unique outfit choices. Our L.A. editor, Michelle Manning, was on the carpet last night, and while most ladies opted to wear dresses, Hailee and Ashley chose pants. Hailee selected a shimmery silver top and pant combo by Prabal Gurung from his fall 2012 collection. The top has intricate gold embroidery in the center, an we like how she chose not to wear the gold belt shown on on the runway. As it gives it a really feel from head to toe. She teamed her metallics with an Edie Parker clutch, and a House of Lanvin bracelet. We admire Hailee's daring sense this style. It's hard to believe she's only 14 years old. Ashley Greene, who hosted the evening, also went for trousers. She selected a black sequin embellished, asymmetrical corset and skinny crop trousers by Donna Karen, fall 2012, which is no surprise considering she's the face of DKNY. Ashley polished off her look with peep toe Christian Louboutin, a stack of bangles and gun metal nail polish. Dresses are typically the dominant choice for the red carpet, but we like how these style setters made a refreshing choice by wearing pants. Now what do you guys think of pants on the red carpet?
