Fashion forward or fashion faux pas? Apparently more than one designer decided 2006 was the right year for high fashion scary face masks. I don't even need to ask Love It or Hate It? I think it's pretty much unanimous, right?

Wow. Day #3 that I'm happy I'm not a model. I kind of like the first dress. Minus the headgear. I like the blazer in the last photo-- minus the straight jacket straps,and again minus the headgear.

Yes, Ann, but just because something is art doesn't make it good. I can appreciate haute couture (even though only one of these actually is that). But that doesn't mean I like all of it. This, the dead lady makeup, the Givenchy haute crusader shizz, and the craziness that was Dior couture this Fall just aren't doing it for me.

i get the idea of haute couture, but doesn't the fact that 2 of these are the "ready to wear" collections mean they're supposed to be... well... ready to wear?

The Victor & Rolf Mask and Collar are what Britney was wearing in the August issue of Harpers Bazaar. It wasn't the best look for her either.

Fancypants is right, most haute coutre is for photography and not for everday. That being said this does not even look good in the photographs with the exception of number 1 which is very haute coutre and actually pretty.

yeah, obviously they aren't meant to be worn out and about, but they make for some interest at the actual runway shows. actually, scatch that, just the viktor and rolf ones, the other's are scary.

Some people like sciences, I like abstract things. So it really depends on opinions, contexts etc.. Some people would see Mark Rothko's paintings as "squares", I see them as masterpieces. I'm not a freak who would parad in town like that, But I appreicate all this.

You need to look at this in a different way. It's like haute couture. Would you wear Christian Dior Haute couture Gowns? You wouldn't as for this. It's a form of art, it's not meant to be worn
