Without Betsey Johnson, I would have gone to many high school dances naked. She was, still is, my go-to designer for funky party dresses, and for that I am thankful. Her company remains privately owned, and she currently has more than 70 stores worldwide, 800 wholesale accounts, and 10 licensees. But most impressive of all, Betsey has remained true to her ultrafemme, ultrafun aesthetic.
