i pick a friend based on their personality.i mean, looks has SOMETHING to do with it. but not so much looks as class.if they're trashy, i won't hang out with them.but i don't "decide" to be friends with someone based on how they look.i have a friend who told me after being BFFs for a year, "i remember when i met you i liked your style and thought you were so cute that i decided to be friends with you!"i was kind of offended.

I wont even consider being your friend if you:a) wear "teacher" or "mom" Jeans.b) wear Tommy Hilfigerc) wear any shirt with a loony tunes character on itd) have any sort of christmas/halloween/easter/thanksgiving sweater or sweater vest, especially if its an iron on.

I am naturally attracted to people with style. I find that I have nothing in common with people that don't care to take care of themselves. My friends don't have to be the most stylish people (but most of them are) but they do need to care about their appearance.

A person's clothes says alot about a person. That said, I certainly wouldn't write someone off because they were having an off-day. If they are wearing sweet clothes, then I know we having something in common.

No lol, as much as I love fashion and try to practice it I slack a lot. I have a few very close friends and most of them are either fashionably laid back, or find my eclectic taste to be odd. I think if someone dressed in a way that I found to be inappropriate or demeaning I'd choose not to be friends with them, but I wouldn't choose to be friends with a person based on just by how they dressed. Typically clothes do say a lot about a person though.

I don't try to. I have friends with totally different styles and I don't always agree with their decisions. But as humans, we are very visual beings. Sometimes we do it and are completely unaware.

i've done it, but i don't think i meant to. my friends come in all shapes in sizes, it's more on personality anyway, once you get past the exterior. they really don't dress that similar to me or each other and i think they all dress great in their own way!

I've judged people by their clothes and I think I'm more likely to NOT be friends with someone if they were dressed trashy. But I don't choose to be a friend to someone because they dress nice.

nope, not ever... maybe clothes might be something that would make me AVOID, but not attract. Bimbo-y girls with all-designer flashy, jewellry and hair manicure...etc, make me avoid.

I voted no, but then re-thunk it. I might not try too hard to get to know someone if they look like they put too much effort into their clothes, e.g.: too much jewelry, too much make-up etc. I do not consider it a priority and if they are super style conscious, it might mean we don't have much in common. My friends who are more style conscious tend to be more superficial and judgmental (I still love them, but I did get to know them through association and not from effort on my part). Sorry.

NEVER EVER! I would never pick a friend based on their wardrobe. It's common sense that you can meet a person who is dressed perfectly but is a total snob, idiot, rude, etc. I'd rather meet a nice person who isn't wearing designer clothes than a label whore who is a snob.

i dont think its shallow at all - in my case at least. See i might look for someone to be my friend b/c she has great close (b/c her love of fashion would be an instant common bond for us) but i wouldnt turn down someone or not consider them for a freindship b/c they have bad clothes... hey maybe my style can rub off on her!(j/k)
