Help! Not Sure How I Feel About This Skirt

Help KadBunny by taking the poll she posted in the Love It or Hate It? group.

I love cobalt. I'm usually attracted to shades of blue but cobalt definitely calls out to me. But I don't know if the black sash hanging down the front is unique and forward, or just plain distracting. What do you think ladies?

this blue is trend of 2009, but it's still very beautiful in 2010, i think so, love the colour, but this style is ok :D

I like the open toe show idea and I like the colour combo. I would experiment by wearing tights and a neckline that echos the black on the skirt.

Hee! Thanks ladies! I'll remember what you all said :) I feel compelled to keep it just because it's such an interesting skirt (and cheap! $16), so if I do I will keep everything else to a minimum (though I can't really see it working with anything other than a plain black top). Thanks for the help!!

I think the "interest" quotient is filled by the intense color of the skirt, and that the added texture/distraction of the sash is overkill. Crazy color OR embellished, but not both, I'd say.

I like the sash, it adds an interesting element to the standard cobalt skirt. I think you pull it off well because you're small. If you keep all other parts of your outfit simple, as you have, it works.

I really like it. The color is pretty, and your figure is great, so the sash doesn't widen your hips as it might for some people. However, it looks like it could use a little taking-in at the waistline in this photo. :)

I agree with Hockey Princess, even though I voted love it. However, I do think that you can get away with having a sash at that place on your body because I still think it looks good on you.

I believe skirts should be simple and clean. No need to draw attention to the hip & tummy area. Embellishments are cool, but either on top or on the bottom (boots, etc.) - not in the middle, unless it's a belt. Anything else messes up body line.
