The beauty department at any store can be a bit overwhelming, but at Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue in New York City, a more serene atmosphere awaits you. The company's just-debuted fragrance landing area is ideal for anyone, from perfume beginner to perfume savant. So take a tour with us now and stop and smell the roses (or jasmine or musk).
Swarovski has the crystal touch and Henri Bendel wants it. The high-end department store has enlisted the help of Crystallized-Swarovski Elements to add glitter to its goodies. "Crystals make products more valuable . . . A light goes off in their [customers] heads that says, ‘This is Swarovski crystal,'" said Ed Bucciarelli, president and chief executive officer of Bendel’s.
The collection, which is available at 11 Henri Bendel locations, includes the following: Crystallized Swarovski ear buds ($98), a leather bag with Crystallized-Swarovski Elements-encrusted pavé ball charm ($695), a leather pouch-style purse with hanging Swarovski crystals ($495), a cocktail ring ($78), and a compact with crystals ($48). Sounds sparkly!
Famed NYC department store Henri Bendel wasn't satisfied to simply tweet that it had launched an official Twitter page and Facebook profile, no no.
Instead of coming quietly into the modern age, Bendel's has installed a young woman in its store window, reclining with her laptop and updating the Bendel Twitter and Facebook pages, respectively.

Henri Bendel is looking to revive its brand with new accessories-based stores. “We’ve always been famous for accessories in our store and a little over one year ago we started testing Bendel’s branded accessories in the store and got a great response,” said Ed Bucciarelli, president and chief executive officer of Henri Bendel.
The new accessories stores will mimic the look of Bendel's original Fifth Avenue location using whimsical touches and brown pin-striped walls. Items will include Bendel’s namesake handbags, such as the one seen left, to luggage, leather goods, jewelry, scarves, and gloves. So far, Bendel has built locations in Columbus, OH, San Diego, CA, Boca Raton, FL, and Aventura, FL. Additional locations are still to be determined.
