The X Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger was spotted — or shall we say checkered — sporting a statement houndstooth coat that immediately caught our sartorial eye. The singer completed her latest London style with black skinny jeans, a black blouse, oversize round sunglasses, pointy booties with a stark white sole, and a bevy of gold baubles, including large hoop earrings. Houndstooth is one of those prints that comes back season after season, but it can very easily go the matronly route. But what we appreciate about Nicole's use of houndstooth is that it's every bit edgy and cool thanks to her use of two off-kilter accessories: exaggerated shades and killer shoes.
