Coming from the northwest we don't get much as far as seasons go besides year round rain and we consider it to be a nice day "or hot" when it hits the mid 70's and we can leave the house wearing a light jacket or if it's "super hot" we don't even need a coat so basically there's never much need to rotate my closet except bringing out winter accessories (gloves, hats, scarfs), close toed shoes, and swimsuits at various times of the year when I need them.
I normally keep my off-season stuff at home, and my current stuff at uni with me to save space, but to be honest my summer stuff is pretty much just my winter stuff, I just wear less of it, so there's not a whole lot that gets moved!
when i'm at home, it works out awesome, because my house has more than one attic, and one of them is connected to my closet, so thats where mom and i put our not-in-season clothes but now that i'm at college and have veryyy limited space, i have to bring things home (like thanksgiving break is normally the big switch-er-roo)
Off season clothes get thrown in collapsible baskets and put in the spare room closet. If I had the room, I would keep them in the same closet year-round, but I don't.
i pretty much wear the same thing year round - just layered for more warmth during the winter time. of course, my thicker sweaters don't get worn during the summer, but they're always in my closet.
When I had a smaller closet, I would keep the current season's clothes in my bedroom closet and the off-season clothes in the spare. But now I have a nice big closet so pants, dresses, skirts, and blouses are out year round. T-shirts and sweaters, however, get packed up when they're out of season because I don't have a lot of shelf/drawer space. I can't wait to unpack my sweaters! I have a purple cardi I'm dying to wear. That's one of the reasons I like doing it this way, it's like unwrapping a present when you get out your favorite sweater or sleeveless tee when the season comes around.
I have some long sleeve tops and sweaters stored in garment bags on shelves in my closet. But my winter coats hang all year round. (Although I hardly need them in sunny LA.)
In England, weather is unpredictable so all my clothes are accessible some constantly in my wardrobe, others on a separate rail, others stored in drawers...
All my stuff stays in my closet. When I used to live at home, my mom put the off-season clothes in plastic containers and stored them in the garage or under the bed. I'm too lazy for that! Plus, my closet is twice the size of the normal closet size and i clean out my closet twice a year so i have no space problems...
I have a huge walk-in closet so there's no need to store my seasonal clothing.Spring and summer are on the left side, fall and winter are on the right side.
I have everything in my room all year round, which means my room looks like some kind of shop!!! don't have room to store elsewhere. But then again I don't really have a different summer or winter wardrobe, I just wear my summer tops with cute cardies in winter!!!!
