Hi. It's Allison McNamara, and today I'm going to teach you how to tie a bow tie. I love when women go for menswear inspired looks, and a bowtie is a really easy easy way to achieve that. Just take look at Diane Kruger who rocked the bow tie recently. Plus, you can always help out your guy if he needs a hand. Start off with your bow tie around your neck with your right side two inches longer than your left side. It's also easier if you put your collar up. Take your longer side and put it over the shorter side, and then tie a knot. I like to keep this out of the way, so I'm going to put it over my shoulder. With the shorter side, I'm gonna take it and double it on top of itself and hold it securely in place. This is important so you have a tight bow tie. And then take pieces over your shoulder and bring it down forward over this knot right here and then here's the tricky part. So, we actually get this piece doubled through this knot right here. Let me show you the knot. This one right here. Look at my finger. So what I suggest is really holding it tight right here, and then finagling this through. It's tricky, I know. Alright, once you have it like this, you're going to want to finesse it a little bit, but don't pull it too tight, otherwise these two ends things will come out. It's okay if it's not perfect because that gives it a little bit of character. You flip down your collar, tuck this behind, to show of your new bow tie, and there you go! You've now tied your very own bow tie! I'm Allison McNamara, and I'll see you next time on Fab's How-To on FabSugar TV.
