The Polar Vortex Never Saw This Outfit Coming

If we had our way, we'd still be tucked under the covers with the heat on and dressing for the polar vortex wouldn't be an issue at all. But when reality struck this morning, what to wear to brave the dangerously cold temperatures was the first thing on our minds. After a little trial and error, we've constructed what might be the cutest way to dress for one of the coldest days we can remember — if, of course, you have to leave the house.

Start with a pair of wool trousers (even better with a pair of fleece-lined tights layered underneath), then add a cozy sweater — one with a little color will go a long way to brightening up your outfit. As for the rest, there's nothing that'll warm you up quite like a puffer coat or jacket, and by all means, don't forget your hat, mittens, and scarf. Oh, and if you don't have to leave home, might we suggest sweatpants and a cup of cocoa as a nice alternative to the above.
