I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but it still confuses me when people wear tights in hot weather. Exhibit A: Kate Beckinsale while Halloween shopping. This all-black look may have worked in the evening but it certainly doesn't fly on a sunny day in LA.
If I was Kate, I would have firstly ditched the knit beanie. Unless you're in snow, rain, or San Francisco, you don't need it. Next, I would have left behind the black tights. She has nice gams and should show them off. I would have also switched the suede boots for a pair of colored flats.
How would YOU wear it?
I don't think it's THAT bad.
Room for improvement yes but not horrible. (esp if it was impromptu on her part)
1I don't think it's too bad either.
2But I would ditch the beanie as well.
Then I would throw on a pair of beieg shorts liek the colour of her bag and ditch the tights.
I don't get the tights and tall boots in warm weather either...
I hate this entire outfit...is she wearing a skirt or a jumpsuit-thing? Ugh.
3It's not always warm in LA... this past week it was actually kind of cold, and a lot of people were wearing tights and leggings.
4Although Kate does look a little goofy in the tights and hat.
Ditch the hat and tights and wear leopard print peep-toes
5Yeah, considering she is in LA this is pretty ridiculous. If she was in New York it would be appropriate. But what is with this trend of wearing tights under shorts?? I hate it.
6She seems a little confused.
7Actually its been pretty cold here in the LA area lately, especially if you are near the shore. I live right outside malibu and i was wearing a sweater and jeans yesterday..
8it wasnt warm here at all this week....It was in the 70s and 60s in the mornings which is COOL for us...and it has even been overcast
9Isn't it nice that we are finally feeling fall in the air here in LA? It's been hot forever! I think she looks cute and don't see what the big deal is.
10ditch the tights and beanie and she's good to go. if i could re-do the entire outfit i'd prolly ditch the tights and beanie and add colored flats and a colorful scarf.
11it's been cold here in LA this past week...so no on the flats...
12I love the outfit....ditch the beanie and tights though.
13this is not bad...I think
14just THAT OUTFIT again, kind of boring
i wouldn't wear the tights...but love the boots!
15it would confuse me too, if the weather in LA was actually hot. down in so. cal it has actually been really cold. so her tights do work.
16its cute but its also kind of a lot going on
17i agree with the L.A. posters, it was what angelenos consider "chilly" this week (ie., low 70s). it's funny ... but i look forward to moving back to SF because it means i can really layer and wear cute winter outfits!
18I think it's quite a cute look and I agree, it can be almost icy down at Malibu/Venice sometimes!
19It's a really cute look! Hey, some of us live in warm climes that have no real seasons and weather can change hourly (no, really, old Texas saying). I wear cold weather clothing in the fall months, even though it may be hot out because I don't want to wear it for the short two weeks in February it is actually cold. Besides, they crank the A/C at work so it all balances out. I'm more indoors than out anyway.
20it is a cute look but not appropriate for the day time. I would have gone with no tights and flats.
21This outfit is actually pretty cute! I wouldn't have worn it in the daytime but it would have been great at night.. sans the beanie..
22It has been pretty chilly here in LA. I know that everyone outside of LA always assumes its permanently hot here just because its sunny, but that's not that case. Granted if it drops below 70, we're chilly, but that's just because of what we've become accustomed to.
23i think its sooo cute. In everyday life yeah its more a nighttime outfit, but in lala land of hollywood she can definitely rock it
24I like it, though I would ditch the hat.
25is she hot? is she cold? you can't tell! i'd go for some coloured tights to jazz up this outfit
26If that thing on the top is a shirt and not a jumpsuit, I would wear it with skinny jeans and some red flats
27I would just get rid of the beanie, that is all.
