Karl knows how to pick his destinations: Chanel's Cruise 2008 was at a Hollywood airport, Cruise 2010 was in Venice, Italy, and now the latest happened in south of France St. Tropez. In attendance were Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Vanessa Paradis, Leigh Lezark, and Georgia May Jagger. Here is Karl and his gorgeous crew.
Karl Lagerfeld Takes Over Saint-Tropez For Chanel's Resort Show
Natasha Poly was the the first girl to step off the classic Riva carrying barefoot models to the start of the Chanel resort show today in Saint-Tropez. Karl Lagerfeld's 1970s-on-the-Riviera collection of chiffon kaftans, gingham blouses, metallic shorts, tweed jackets, and lace swimwear was location-appropriate and ultimately very wearable, as illustrated by the range of models cast for the event. Jaquetta Wheeler (who said she often wishes for more curves), 17-year-old Georgia May Jagger (who closed the show on the back of a motorcycle), and plus-size model Crystal Renn were among those to walk. After the runway, guests headed to VIP Room for a celebration, which was the location used in Lagerfeld's short film for the collection, "Remember Now."

Chanel's Cruise 2011 Show Involved Motorboats, a Motorcycle, and Crystal Renn
>> Set on the French Riviera in Saint Tropez with the models arriving on motorboats from a yacht in the harbor, Chanel's Cruise 2011 show reflected the '70s throwback party atmosphere emulated in Karl Lagerfeld's short film shown last night. Natasha Poly opened barefoot in a pastel print dress, and Karolina Kurkova and Abbey Lee Kershaw danced down the runway in knits. Toni Garrn and Jacquetta Wheeler made runway returns, and Crystal Renn, riding the current "plus size model" wave, made a cameo.
For the finale, front rowers like Anna Mougalis, Carine Roitfeld, Andre Leon Talley in a green cape, Emmanuelle Alt, Diane Kruger, Vanessa Paradis, and Franca Sozzani witnessed Lagerfeld's bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau pulling up on a motorcycle (which temporarily stalled) with Georgia May Jagger on the back. Then, appropriately, to a Rolling Stones soundtrack, Lagerfeld appeared in a purple jacket for his bow — and Abbey Lee threw her arm around Karl's shoulder.
Video: Karl Lagerfeld's Full Chanel Cruise 2011 Short Film, Remember Now
>> Chanel's latest short film, which debuted last night in Saint Tropez before guests — in town to preview the brand's Cruise 2011 show today — played a rousing game of petanque, is now online. The 17-minute film features Abbey Lee Kershaw as a Jane Birkin lookalike, Freja Beha Erichsen channeling Mick Jagger, and Magdalena Frackowiak emulating Brigitte Bardot.
Lagerfeld, who wrote, directed, and makes a cameo in the film, said Monday: “When I do a film, I see the movie before I’ve made it. I don’t make scripts because it’s written in my head. I like short one-liners.” And Heidi Mount, who plays a party hostess, added: “There’s a script, but it’s basically Karl telling you what he wants. He has the whole thing up in his head.”

Karl Lagerfeld Premieres Short Film "Remember Now" For Chanel Cruise Collection
Karl Lagerfeld is in Saint Tropez for the launch of the Chanel 2011 resort collection and yesterday held a private screening of his 17-minute film, "Remember Now." Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kurger, and Georgia Jagger (who is walking in tonight's resort show) attended the premiere, held in the Cinema de la Renaissance, to watch Heidi Mount, Pascal Greggory, and Elisa Sednaoui in the short film about an aging playboy (played by Greggory) and one very memorable evening. "When I do a film, I see the movie before I've made it. I don't make scripts because it's written in my head," said Lagerfeld, who also makes a cameo. Watch the complete film here.

Diane and Josh Drink and Play at Karl's Remember Now Party
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger sipped on wine and played bocce in St. Tropez yesterday at a party and screening for Karl Lagerfeld's short film, Remember Now. The movie will have its official premiere later today at the Chanel resort collection presentation in the luxurious locale. At the soirée, Karl himself mingled with the guests, which also included Vanessa Paradis and Karolina Kurkova. Diane was once again toting the basket she carried arriving in town looking like twins with Josh the day before. Diane is picture perfect even as she played the lawn games and we recently saw those modeling skills at work in her new CK Beauty ads.

Claudia Schiffer Captured Pregnant, Nude by Karl Lagerfeld for Vogue Germany June 2010
>> Of all the models who have been pregnant in the last year or so, it's Claudia Schiffer, who is expecting her third child, a girl, and reportedly due this month, who took the plunge and shot a nude cover. The image, which appears on Vogue Germany's June 2010 cover, was captured by Karl Lagerfeld and mimics Demi Moore's iconic 1991 Vanity Fair cover.
"My first Vogue cover twenty years ago was a very special moment and I'd never have thought that doing this edition with Vogue would give me such a similar buzz," Schiffer said. "It was important to us to show how beautiful it is to be a woman and that you can have a positive attitude towards your body, including when you're expecting."
The entire issue is reportedly filled with all-Claudia editorials, shot by Ellen von Unwerth, who discovered Schiffer, Camilla Akrans, Francesco Carrozzini, and Jan Welters.
