Channing, Rooney, and Jude Team Up For Their Side Effects Premiere

Rooney Mara was joined by her costars Channing Tatum, Jude Law, and Catherine Zeta-Jones for the New York premiere of Side Effects last night.

Rooney Mara was joined by her costars Channing Tatum, Jude Law, and Catherine Zeta-Jones for the New York premiere of Side Effects last night. She wore a white Alexander McQueen dress and Nicholas Kirkwood pumps while Catherine donned a black lace Michael Kors frock. Catherine's husband, Michael Douglas, walked her down the red carpet, which included visits from some of New York's fashion elite, like Donna Karan and Rachel Roy. Kate Mara joined her sister, Rooney, at the event after Rooney attended Kate's House of Cards premiere on Wednesday. It's been a busy week for the duo, who have both been doing press for their two new releases. Rooney attended a Side Effects Q&A with director Steven Soderbergh and Jude in the Big Apple earlier this week and Kate made the party rounds for her new series in DC and NYC. House of Cards hits Netflix today while Side Effects will open in theaters on Feb. 8.

Kate and Rooney Face Off in a Style Battle (of Sisterly Proportions)

When Kate Mara stepped out at the Lincoln Center last night to promote her new series, House of Cards, she had some support from younger sister and fellow actress Rooney Mara.

When Kate Mara stepped out at the Lincoln Center last night to promote her new series, House of Cards, she had some support from younger sister and fellow actress Rooney Mara. It was a red-carpet family reunion that provided two very different takes on event dressing. Kate showed off her feminine fashion inclination in a metallic lace Dolce & Gabbana confection, complete with platform heels and a framed clutch, while Rooney served up a more pared-down aesthetic in Band of Outsiders suiting, then finished off her menswear vibe with lace-up boots. We love that both sisters each offer a unique style perspective, so much so that it's hard to picture these sisters raiding each others' closets growing up — with Kate channeling a more ladylike, trendier feel and Rooney staying true to her edgier eventwear. Now, we're turning it over to you. In this sartorial battle, which sister's style gets your vote?

Rooney Mara was there to support her sister, Kate Mara, on the red carpet at last night's House of Cards premiere party in NYC. Rooney wore an all-black Band of Outsiders ensemble, the same outfit she also wore to a special Q&A for her upcoming film Side Effects with Jude Law yesterday. Meanwhile, Kate wore a silver Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she paired with black platform sandals.

Kate stars in the new series — which begins streaming on Netflix on Feb. 1 — alongside Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, who both attended the premiere fete. The political drama follows a ruthless politician, played by Kevin, who makes plenty of enemies as he attempts to win the presidency. The series is based on the hit UK miniseries from 1990. Other celebrity guests at the premiere included Natasha Lyonne, Kim Cattrall, and newlyweds Amber Tamblyn and David Cross.

Looking to update your smoky eye?

Looking to update your smoky eye? Go for grays, like swarms of celebrities have been doing lately. Garcelle Beauvais matched her shade with her slate-colored dress, while Alexa Chung added some serious sparkle to her shadow. And Kate Mara opted for an updated cat-eye swoop and loads of mascara. This shade is a subtle way to amp up your holiday look, but whose grayscale palette did you prefer?

The girls hit the blue carpet before heading inside for dinner and mingling. Katy wore a Naeem Khan caped ensemble, while Selena showed a bit of skin in Dolce & Gabbana. It was a colorful night for the female attendees — Kate Mara donned orange Jason Wu, Uma Thurman picked a dark blue Atelier Versace gown, and Girls star Allison Williams picked a mint green Naeem Khan ensemble. The night was about doing good, and quite a bit of charity took place. Selena tweeted, "So proud to be a part of UNICEF — we raised 2.5 million dollars tonight!"

Stars came out to celebrate the opening of Rag & Bone's new flagship store in LA last night. Cameron Diaz posed with pal Reese Witherspoon on her way into the event, which also brought out Emma Roberts, Mandy Moore, and Kate Mara. It was Reese's first official red carpet since giving birth to son Tennessee James Toth in September. Reese has been all about the brand lately, wearing her Harrow booties and stocking up at the new shop on Thursday afternoon. Cameron, meanwhile, has been spending time with friends and met up with Gwyneth Paltrow for dinner on Monday and a group of ladies for lunch this Tuesday. Also on hand to toast the retail spot were Rag & Bone designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, stylists Meritt Elliott and Emily Current, and Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka.

2012 Emmys Red-Carpet and Backstage Highlights

The 2012 Emmy Awards were the hot ticket in LA this weekend, and I was on the scene for the small screen's biggest night, reporting from the red carpet and PopSugar's prime spot backstage in the winner's circle. There, I had the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the show and interview many of the evening's big winners just after they were presented with their statuettes.

Take a look at some of my favorite moments and memories from the night, from getting an up-close look at Nicole Kidman's gorgeous gown to chatting with Aaron Paul about Jesse's fate on the last few episodes of Breaking Bad, here. Click through to relive them with me!

Channing and Jenna Get Cute at a Busy Brunch For Their New 10 Years

Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, joined their 10 Years costars yesterday morning in NYC for a special brunch at the Hotel Chantelle.

Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, joined their 10 Years costars yesterday morning in NYC for a special brunch at the Hotel Chantelle. Along with Channing and Jenna, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Max Minghella, Kate Mara, Ari Graynor, and Rosario Dawson stepped out to mingle at the meal. Channing and Jenna aren't the only real-life couple who worked on the film — Kate and Max are also dating! 10 Years opened in limited release last Friday, and the star-studded cast continues to throw their weight behind the high-school-reunion-themed film.

We caught up with Channing and Jenna before they chowed down on their meal, and they told us about their own experiences as teenagers. Channing skipped his own high school reunion, but says he knows their movie is still true to life. Jenna described her high school years as typically Texan, but with the addition of dance class every night. The training served her well — it was on the set of the dance flick Step Up that she and Channing first got together.

10 Years: A Reunion to Come Home For

He's played an undercover cop, a hopeless romantic, and a stripper in 2012, and Channing Tatum is adding to his banner year with another memorable performance in 10 Years.

He's played an undercover cop, a hopeless romantic, and a stripper in 2012, and Channing Tatum is adding to his banner year with another memorable performance in 10 Years. Tatum is part of an ensemble as Jake, a man returning to his hometown for his high school reunion. Not only does the film provide its fair share of belly laughs, but it also paints a bittersweet portrait of what all those archetypes from our favorite teen comedies (the ones where someone's trying to lose their virginity at prom) might be up to 10 years later. All the players are still the same, but this time around, the cruel jock (Chris Pratt) is attempting to make amends with the geeks he beat up in high school, the popular girl's (Lynn Collins) life is no longer one to envy, and everyone is struggling to reconcile who they used to be with the people they've become.

Jake's on-the-brink-of-engagement relationship with his girlfriend Jess (Jenna Dewan) is the primary focus of the movie, but it's just one of the dynamics on display throughout the night. The couple arrives in town for a preparty at old high school royalty Sam (Ari Graynor) and Cully's (Chris Pratt) house. Now living in the 'burbs with kids and a mortgage, their life is far from the homecoming court of yesteryear. One of the things that I appreciate about this movie is that it could so easily slide into a superficial trip down memory lane, but instead it plays up the realism. It's evident that despite their popular past, Sam and Cully aren't content with the paths they've taken, and they're not the only ones.
