LA Fashion Week Spring 2008, Chick by Nicky Hilton: Love It or Hate It?

Nicky Hilton's Spring 2008 collection for her line, Chick by Nicky Hilton, is retro with a modern twist. This apple print halter mini dress is one of the many cutesy pieces Paris' little sis designed. Although apples aren't one of my favorite fruits (I mean does an apple a day really keep the doctor away?), I would wear this frock because it's lighthearted, fun and super girly. I may be biased because I can't stand the Hiltons (but I do Love fashion), but this just looks boring and uninspired - like it was designed by someone with no talent at all who is just trying to live up to her sister's slutty shadow...

Chick is one of the most UNORIGINAL lines out there. It is terrible and cheap. Gross!

The look is cutesy all right, but does an 24 year old clothing “designer” really want to go there considering this is her supposed to be her first foray into more grown-up pieces (as opposed to the original Chick line with tie dye and long skirts)? I’m thinking she should have gone more adult if she wants to be taken seriously.
