>> First Look: Karl Lagerfeld's New Short Film, Remember Now —Last night's flight from New York to Nice, transporting a number of journalists and Karolina Kurkova to Saint Tropez for Chanel's Cruise 2011 presentation tomorrow, was delayed by six hours due to volcanic ash, but it ended up landing just fine this morning. Kurkova appears in Karl Lagerfeld's new short film, Remember Now, to be presented at the show tomorrow, along with actors Elisa Sednaoui and Pascal Greggory in the leading roles, and Freja Beha Erichsen, Magdalena Frackowiak, Baptiste Giabiconi, Sebastien Jondeau, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Leigh Lezark, and Heidi Mount supporting. The trailer, below. [Chanel News]
>> Over the weekend, Karl Lagerfeld was snapped in the Saint Tropez harbor, where he was shooting the short film for the upcoming Chanel Cruise 2011 show on May 11. Last week, it was confirmed that Heidi Mount would star in the minimovie with French actor Pascal Greggory, but also appearing on set were Karolina Kurkova, Magdalena Frackowiak, Leigh Lezark, Freja Beha Erichsen, and Abbey Lee Kershaw. Lezark Tweeted yesterday, "2nd day of shooting in st. tropez! @ Karl's Villa, volcano ash cloud: please never go away!"

The LPD, little pink dress, is in full tilt this season, and we couldn't be happier. See, the trick to pulling off this cute color palette is picking a hue that complements your skin tone. Zoe Saldana opted for a trippy light pink print by Louis Vuitton; Leigh Lezark donned a brighter hue during Paris Fashion Week; while Jessica Alba played around with a soft floral version. All pink, all deliciously pretty.
For those who don't know Leigh Lezark, allow me to introduce the model/famous MisShapes DJ. Not only is she cute and talented, she also has mad styling chops. During Paris Fashion Week, the American beauty made her rounds to runway shows showing off her unique flavor. For the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac show, she mixed black and white prints, giving off the ultimate eclectic vibe. At Christian Dior, she opted for a girly, moody print dress. However, it was John Galliano who brought out her fiery side with a flaming red coat and super fresh heels. She then changed into a black fringed Chanel frock for Karl. At the Kenzo show, Leigh paired a gray jumper with gold brocade jacket. Each outfit had its own quirky cool touch — which was your fave?
Vanessa Paradis played host at last night's special dinner celebrating Chanel's new Rouge Coco de Chanel lipsticks. Kate Bosworth also put on one of Karl Lagerfeld's designs for the event, which brought out a crowd including Rachel Zoe, Nina Garcia, and more. The attendees are gearing up for Fashion Week, which starts tomorrow, but Vanessa and Kate had love on the mind before Valentine's Day. Vanessa made a rare comment on her longtime love, Johnny Depp, saying, "I like him very much in all terms and every sense of the way . . . He makes me happy. We are many things — we are together and, in a way, one person."
Kate, meanwhile, was all about her own guy, Alexander Skarsgard, despite arriving at the bash with socialite and Born Rich director Jamie Johnson. "We are very good friends," she said of Alex. "He's a wonderful, wonderful man. I adore him." The stylish crowd moved on after their meal to the club Good Units for Interview magazine's 40th anniversary party, where Kate was spotted letting loose with Vogue writer Derek Blasberg as Chloe Sevigny, Mary-Kate Olsen, and her boyfriend Nate Lowman danced nearby.

>> Chanel Names Five It-Girls As Ambassadors —Christian Dior named it-girl Harley Viera-Newton a house DJ for Dior Beauty last August, and it was only a matter of time before another brand caught on to the concept. On Tuesday, Chanel announced five it-girls, perhaps in a nod to Coco's favorite number — Jen Brill, Poppy Delevigne, Vanessa Traina, Leigh Lezark, and Caroline Sieber — as part of their new beauty ambassador program. The latter two are often spotted wearing Chanel, anyway. [Style File]
In celebration of its new NY headquarters, Burberry lit the cityscape with bright lights and a fashionable soiree filled with bubbly and a guest list PR people would kill for. There were a ton of looks to choose from, but I narrowed it down to five. Lily Donaldson showed off her stems in a white chiffon minidress; Alexa Chung styled her printed sheath with a belt and blazer; Leigh Lezark looked sexy stealth in a ruched eggplant frock and sharp heels; Claire Danes accessorized her gray dress with bold adornments; and Blake Lively looked cunning in a loose blazer and mini. All Burberry, all beautiful. Divulge: which Bailey supporter do you prefer?
>> New York Mayor Bloomberg declared yesterday "Burberry Day," in honor of the lighting of the brand's logo atop its new US headquarters — watch a video of it going down here — and the weather complied with rain, appropriate for a brand known for their trench coats. "I was worried about the drizzle before, but now I love it," said Christopher Bailey, in town to celebrate. "It's all very English."
Christopher arrived to the unveiling last night with Lily Donaldson on his arm, who grinned and gushed about being "a Burberry girl" and "part of the [Burberry] family." He went on to explain what an honor it it is to have the Burberry logo lit in the first place: "It's one of only six grandfathered buildings in New York where you can do that, so it's a big deal for us to be able to affect the iconic Manhattan skyline, which I love."
The excitement seems to have made him chatty — he covered a range of topics, from admitting that he dyed his hair blue once to discussing advertising fees — like Mario Testino's, which runs $140,000 a day: "You’re buying talent. And I think talent never goes away with the changing economy, and talent is something we all need to keep nurturing."
Models (Hilary Rhoda, Helena Christensen) mingled with editors (Kate Lanphear, who apparently has dyed her hair black underneath, Amy Astley, Cecilia Dean) and it girls (Byrdie Bell, Alexa Chung, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Harley Viera-Newton), and the mix left at least one girl confiding that she didn't recognize Blake Lively — Lily Donaldson, who admitted: "I don't watch Gossip Girl. But you can't blame me. I don't even own a TV at the moment!"
The celebration seemed a success, except for skimping in one area. An alcohol shortage kicked in around 9:30 pm, leaving one guest unhappy: "That's the driest party I've ever been to." Same goes for Harley, Leigh Lezark, and Derek Blasberg, The Cut tweeted: "The party has run out of glasses, and the trio is displeased."
Do you fancy purple? If so, this one's for you. Leigh Lezark attended a party at the Hogan store in London last night dressed in a suede purple dress with two zippers on the bodice. The purple platform sandals complement her dress without looking cheesy. Her gold metallic Hogan purse — which goes from satchel to clutch — adds much-needed drama to the mix. Edgy meets glamor . . . fun!
