Look of The Day: Pretty in Purple

It may not be prom season but you all know I like to play dress up, and I thought this Pretty in Purple prom look, posted by swwonder, was just so stunning. She is today's Look Book Look of the Day. I love the simplicity, and the fit is perfect; this shade of purple is beautiful against her skin tone too.

Here's what she put together:

Purple gown: Debenhams (UK department store)
Bow brooch: Vintage

And apparently she had a really pretty vintage bag, but we can only see a tiny glimpse of it behind her - phooey!

Sorry, I really just don't like the dress? You might think I am crazy, but I just don't like the color! I think it is TACKY!

funny that i see this because i was (very randomly) looking at a prom magazine at Borders the other day and most of the dresses i saw were hideous! i wondered if prom dresses were always so tacky because mine from years ago was quite pretty. okay, maybe not, but you have restored my faith that prom dresses can be simple and elegant! :)

I agree, even some purple eye shadow spices up a look. I have been looking for a great purple shirt to wear with jeans or black pants and can't seem to find one!! If anyone here spots one on the web let me know!! Preferable dark purple!!
