I adore how ribbon necklaces look simultaneously whimsical and elegant; kind of like a fancy DIY. The dramatic nature of this Lanvin Strass Necklace ($469, originally $935) would add decadence to my wardrobe, but even at the sale price, I can't afford it. Seriously — does it really cost that much to make this necklace?

This Forever 21 Jewels & Lace Ribbon Necklace ($7) is just as breathtaking without the crazy price tag. I can already picture the lace and jewel trim against a simple white tee for maximum contrast. Done and done.
ehhh...I'm not sure. Maybe....
I'd make a DIY Lanvin instead...it looks pretty easy to duplicate.
1Uh, yah I think I would just make it. The Forever 21 necklace looks a little to saloon burlesque girl for my tastes.
2Not a big fan of either but if I had to choose I would go for the Forever 21. I don't like the big rhinestone look.
3Come on, let's be honest, those are not the same.
4these are not the same, or even close. there has got to be better options out there if not it would be easy to make yourself!
5I actually love both of these...yes the cheaper one isn't even close but its still the general idea...and I don't know about you but I would be more apt to wear the black beads then "diamonds" on a regular basis...besides why not DIY then you pick out your own beads!
6Why not this one maybe......pretty cute.....http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=45839&vid=1&pid=664586
7Whoa VolleyJen14, I LOVE that one! I might have to get it from Banana Republic, now. haha
8I can't get into the ribbon-necklace thing...I think they look silly.
9I have never really been a huge fan of ribbon necklaces, but I do own one that looks really good with a "V" neck shirt I have. I guess it really depends on the type of ribbon the necklace is, how big the stones are, and the cut of the top you're pairing it with.
10I
the 1st one. I agree w/ Keller. It looks pretty easy to duplicate. It may not be
Swarovsky crystal if DIY though. Most people can't tell the difference, anyway.
