The Look For Less: Proenza Schouler Safari Vest

Proenza Schouler's Spring '08 collection was inspirational to me because it took certain safari-esque pieces and glamorized them. I especially fell hard for the belted, long khaki vests (left). But being lovestruck doesn't usually equal cha-ching.

Sometimes Bebe's selections are so loud it hurts. Other times, like in the case of this Bebe Stretch Plaid Long Vest ($98), they are subtly stylish. I immediately had a vision of Proenza Schouler's runway show when I laid eyes on this vest. It's the most sophisticated and inexpensive way to dabble with the safari trend. Who's with me on this expedition?

I was at Zara today and they have something more similar to the Proenza one as far as fabric goes. It comes with a skinny brown belt that loops around twice.

Although the Bebe vest is not cut exactly the same way , I still thinks it's a cute vest.

the bebe doesnt have that cute triangular cut at the bottom...the same look imo

Loved the S/S 08 collection from Proenza Schouler. The vest is pretty cute, I'd totally wear it. I also love the black skirt, can't say the I'd wear it though. OK maybe if I would look as good as Raquel in it :D Oh if I'm not mistaken I've seen a photo from the upcoming Sex And The City movie, with Sarah Jessica Parker in this vest, if not the whole outfit from the runway show. Not sure about it though :)
