Kate Moss made her way to Paris to make an unannounced cameo on the Louis Vuitton Fall '13 runway, and showgoers went wild! The 39-year-old supermodel has all but retired from walking the runways but made an exception for her longtime pal Marc Jacobs today. When she wasn't on the catwalk, we also spotted the British beauty trying out a look from the just-debuted Saint Laurent Fall '13 collection. Watch on for all the style scoop. Kate Moss donned a wig and walked the runway at the Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 fashion show in Paris today. Fashionable celebrities Naomi Watts, Elizabeth Olsen, and Jessica Chastain sat front row at the show to watch Kate make her return to her old stomping ground. Kate's husband, Jamie Hince, and daughter, Lila Grace, also made the trip over the Channel to watch the model mom work her stuff. The Louis Vuitton show wasn't the only big fashion news Kate was working on — Kate was named "fashion royalty" by The Sunday Times yesterday, the same day that she attended Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book Issue 2 launch in the City of Light.
Kate's see-through Louis Vuitton dress was surprisingly less revealing than her recent nude photo shoot with Rihanna for V Magazine, which featured the singer and the model in alternating topless poses.
There are no two ways about it, Jessica Chastain was Paris Fashion Week's standout style star. Not only did she make an appearance at just about every major show, but she also delivered impeccable ensembles for every front-row moment. From Chanel to Louis Vuitton to Saint Laurent and Givenchy, the actress brought her fashion A-game in a variety of chic hues: black, white, fiery red, with pops of purple and gold. As for silhouettes, Jessica dabbled with formfitting styles, tried mini and maxi hemlines, and even showed off a sleek jumpsuit. All the sex appeal — with a classic ladylike twist — you'll ever need came courtesy of Marc Jacobs's knockout lineup at Louis Vuitton's Fall '13 show. With an intimate circular set surrounded by "hotel doors," the scene felt as sexy as the slinky velvet dresses, luxe outerwear, and tweedy nipped-waist silhouettes that came parading out. See it all here — and make sure to watch out for Kate Moss's epic appearance, too.
The clothing at Louis Vuitton may have been all about the boudoir, but the hair and makeup was reminiscent of New Wave rockers of the '80s. Cropped black wigs with piecey bangs, glossy eye makeup, and ruddy lipstick came together to create a look that stood out against the clothes. All that was missing was a guitar.
The look: Blunt black wigs, greasy smoky eyes, ruddy red lipstick.
Trends: Grungy hair and makeup.
Who would wear it: A girl hanging out in the corner of a smoky rock show.
Marc Jacobs has delivered a knockout Fall 2013 Louis Vuitton collection, emphasizing the intimacy and luxury of boudoir dressing. With a circular set of hotel doors surrounding an audience that included Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, models like Kate Moss and Lindsey Wixson showed off ladylike looks with plenty of sex appeal. Tweed suits with nipped-in waists had degrade sequins while panne velvet dresses clung to the body. The house's famous bags were rendered in fur and other luxe materials, leaving the logos off the runway. Click through to see all the photos from Louis Vuitton Fall 2013.
Marc Jacobs certainly knows how to put a Fashion Month to bed. His Fall 2013 show for Louis Vuitton, presented Wednesday morning in the tented courtyard of the Louvre, was as elegant, comfortable, and spectacular as the boudoir-inspired slip dresses, coats, and pajama pants that came down the runway of his wallpapered hotel corridor set.
As the melancholy piano strains of Alexandre Desplat's "River" (used on the soundtrack for the film Tree of Life) began, models in close-cropped wigs emerged from numbered, wooden hotel doors that lined the periphery of the carpeted runway. Each model left the door to her room ajar — exposing black and white film projections and rooms filled with Louis Vuitton luggage — did one full turn on the runway, and then returned to her room and closed the door. Then the cycle repeated itself with different doors, different models, and different clothes until the final segment, when Kate Moss emerged in a low-cut, full-length, sheer gown decorated with embroidery. The audience cheered.
