While we're used to seeing Olivia Wilde in pretty bohemian gowns or sexy dresses, the actress showed off a different style on the red carpet at the Cowboys and Aliens premiere in the UK. Taking a turn towards the classics, Olivia donned a black and white sheer polka-dot Gucci gown paired with Brian Atwood pumps, red lipstick and a bumped-up hairdo. Over the years, I've seen a few different variations of this style of table made from real books. Some are held together with a belt of some sort, some are literally drilled together, and others are encased in acrylic. Whatever the case, it's a unique way to put dusty books that aren't in use to work. Some literature-lovers might say the unorthodox storage damages the books or it makes them difficult to reach, but I think it's a great option for storing books you've already read and are unlikely to read again.

There's something slightly magical about the bright color and powerful fragrance of a big bouquet of lavender. For years we've been raving about lavender-infused cocktails, and now lavender is making its way into many home chefs' kitchens for the first time. And it's not just sitting pretty in a bouquet.

Lavender is part of herbes de Provence, but this flower is beginning to stand alone as a spice staple in both savory and sweet dishes. Its robust flavor is sweet and floral with citrus notes. But like rosemary, the trick with lavender is that a little goes a long way; you don't want to ever feel like you're eating perfume. I'm curious about your thoughts. Do you love cooking with lavender, or is this one of those trends you're not willing to try?

The good people at Bondtoo in NYC have released The Times of New York Candle ($65). Just as the name implies, the candle smells like — you guessed it — a freshly printed copy of the iconic paper. Late designer Tobias Wong had originally conceptualized the scent, but friends recently paid homage to him with a limited release of these candles.

I can't decide. I love the familiar scent of the Sunday Styles section against the backdrop of my morning coffee and scrambled eggs, but is an entire candle over the top?

Healthful Southern food may sound like a paradox, but for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, it's now a reality. The Atlanta-based fast food chain has just launched a new, diet-friendly "Louisiana Leaux — Get up & Geaux!" menu, with a focus on foods that contain fewer calories, less fat, and lower sodium.

On the menu: a meal of seasoned chicken tenders, green beans, and toasted baguette roll; a chicken wrap made with a cheese tortilla, chicken tenders, lettuce, and pickles; a chicken tender po' boy baguette with barbecue sauce, lettuce, and pickles; and a new kids meal, with naked chicken tenders, applesauce, toasted baguette roll, and no-calorie drink.

Popeyes follows other fast food companies, such as McDonald's, Burger King, and Jack in the Box, who've recently opted to offer more nutritious items such as fruit sides on their menus. Do you welcome this change, or does it seem like a contradictory move to you?

Hamburg-based photographer Julia Hoersch shot this stunning photograph of a dining table prêt for a meal, featuring two laundry detergent bottles used as vases for hydrangea and other pretty petals. The color palette is flawless, and I love the way the orangey-red and blue bottles stand out against the deep teal blue wall.

That said, while the unusual vase alternative is a suprising, memorable element, I don't think I could pull it off in my home. I've used tin cans and mason jars as vases before, but I think the plastic bottles would embarass me. What do you think? Would you try this at home?

One of the highlights of the weekend at the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen was a party on Saturday night hosted by Wines of Germany. At the event, I sipped countless Rieslings and was blown away by how much I enjoyed the crisp, refreshing, and somewhat floral whites. Rieslings are affordable, versatile, and very food-friendly. I drink them all the time, but am wondering: what's your take on the wine? Many people find them to be too sweet, but tons of dry Rieslings exist! Do you sip them?

The glossy white ceiling of this Coogee Beach, Sydney, home is by no means subtle. It's flashy and reflective, snazzy and arresting. But it works because the home — complete with a dreamy interior courtyard — has been designed to the nines. An "unfinished" room could not pull this off; it'd be like wearing a khaki shirtdress with rhinestone Louboutins.

I would consider this effect in a smaller room and in a darker shade — perhaps Benjamin Moore's Old Navy? The white is a little too Miami for my tastes. What do you say?
