Grammy Awards: Corinne Bailey Rae

New songstress Corinne Bailey Rae attended her very first Grammy Awards and did so with a bang.

New songstress Corinne Bailey Rae attended her very first Grammy Awards and did so with a bang. She looks confident (although a little bored?) in her blue strapless Luella dress with oversized floral pailettes. The frock is fun, but I'm not so sure about the wide satin belt. It's a bit distracting. What do you think?

Fab Gift Guide: The BFF

How many BFFs do you have?

How many BFFs do you have? How many do you really have? I'm not talking about flighting friendships. I'm talking about a person who knows what you're thinking, laughs at your most private jokes and will have a late night dance session with you in your apartment at 3:00 AM. So again, how many BFFs do you have? When you decide, be sure to get them something that could only come from you, and from the heart.

Be sure to peruse all of our Gift Guides and download our Fab Gift Guide worksheet to help keep you organized!

Fabworthy: Luella Patti Polka Dot Skirt

You undoubtedly remember the black polka dot Luella dress Cameron Diaz wore at the MTV Movie Awards.

You undoubtedly remember the black polka dot Luella dress Cameron Diaz wore at the MTV Movie Awards. You did love it after all! Five months later, a skirt version has surfaced and is bound to make you giddy like it did to me.

This super-cute Luella Patti Polka Dot Skirt ($185) is ready to accompany you to your holiday parties and would look good bare legged or with tights. Thanks Luella for spreading a little preholiday cheer.

Trend Alert: Fashion Hunter

While I am never one to encourage the hunting of cute furry things, there are fashion hunters on the prowl.

While I am never one to encourage the hunting of cute furry things, there are fashion hunters on the prowl. Whether you're just hunting for Fab Finds in the urban jungle or escaping to the country for a mellow weekend, bucolic garb is hot whether you like it or not. I think you can always look the part — see the Luella Fall runway (left) — just don't play the part!

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Luella

When Luella Bartley came back to London earlier this week after showing the past few seasons in New York, she wasn't the only one to make a return.

When Luella Bartley came back to London earlier this week after showing the past few seasons in New York, she wasn't the only one to make a return. Batman also made an appearance. Trousers with Batman motifs, old school Batman and Robin masks, and mini capes all adorned models on the Luella runway.

The collection was inspired by Thora Birch's geeky shabby chic character in Ghost World - the second collection in a row where Luella has tossed around the geek chic theme. And as geeky as Luella tries to be, she always manages to churn out oodles of covetable feminine dresses - dresses that cool girls want to wear. Whenever I see her new collection, all I can think is: "I want to be a Luella girl." And as long as she incites that kind of reaction, she is good to go.

Thanks to the lovely FabSugar fashionista, who spotted this geek inspired tote by Luella and just had to share. The easy tote canvas geek bags are available in ecru, pale blue and yellow for $186. If you are wondering about the cute geek runway tee, I was unable to find it in the online store, as it was most likely a limited edition print.

Hot Color: Deep Purple

Jewel-tones are very big for Fall and Winter 2006, and you really can't go wrong with deep purple.

Jewel-tones are very big for Fall and Winter 2006, and you really can't go wrong with deep purple. This deep amethyst shade was all over the runways, and now it's making its way into stores in the form of dresses, tops, handbags, and shoes. Splashes of rich purple look great paired with basic black or even with earthy brown ensembles. Here are some of the prettiest plum pieces I could find.
