Lutz & Patmos Antique Beaded Collar: Love It or Hate It?

I've always been a fan of the warrior goddess look, so naturally, I was attracted to this Lutz & Patmos Antique Beaded Collar ($695). Picture it with a draped white tee or black silk blouse — très Fab, no? However, my friend thinks it's over the top and looks too much like a costume prop. I need a second opinion, tell me what you think!
