Lydia Hearst for Puma Bags: Love It or Hate It?

Model of the week Lydia Hearst has teamed up with Heatherette designers Traver Rains and Richie Rich to design a collection of handbags for sportswear brand Puma.

The 10 limited-edition Puma Lydia bags, around $100, are inspired by the French 77 Racket Bag. On Tuesday, Lydia (left) proudly modeled two of her bags at a press brunch in NYC. They're patent, sporty, but would you be caught with one at the gym?

I love Heatheretter, but I can't stand Lydia Hearst, so I'm not sure - I like the gray one and I kind of like the black one but I would have to see them...

The gray one looks delicious! I think I'm a little biased because I just love Puma. They've always been able to create sporty, casual bags and shoes that were still fashionable and cool.

I think it's the handles on these that ruin it for me. And, the need to pleather-ize everything also adds to the "tacky" factor. In the end, it could have been worse but it could have been MUCH better too.

I think they're pretty tacky, although that element was to be exoected when I heard Heatherette helped her out with the designs. And what qualifies her to design bags?

i like it!!.. i think its cute!... the grey one! :) i would probably use it for more then the gym.. like running around on a saturday or sunday afternoon!
