New Details: Marc Jacobs's Sephora Makeup Line to Launch in August

Marc Jacobs has been a busy man, and he's finally ready to release his color cosmetics line to the world.

Marc Jacobs has been a busy man, and he's finally ready to release his color cosmetics line to the world. When news first dropped back in April, Jacobs seemed quite excited about his foray into makeup. "I see makeup, fragrance — everything, really — as an opportunity," he explained to WWD. "The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner — it's just such a delight. Anything that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed — that's what fashion's about for me."

The line will be a collaboration with Sephora and is slated to drop on Aug. 9 in brick-and-mortar stores and online, as well as in select Marc Jacobs stores. The 122-piece collection runs the gamut from blushes and lip products to blushes and eye shadows, and it's broken down into broad categories: Smart Complexion, Blacquer, Hi-Per Color, and Boy Tested, Girl Approved. Speaking of boys, Jacobs isn't leaving them out. Three products are unisex: his Lip Lock Moisture Balm ($24), Brow Tamer Grooming Gel ($24), and Remedy Concealer Pen ($39). But don't expect any nude shades in his collection. "It would be too natural," Jacobs quipped.

The collection is also going global, which is a new move for Sephora. Europe will get a taste in 2014, and it will move to China in 2015. A holiday color collection is also in the works, as well as additional core pieces for Spring 2014. "I'm surprised at how delighted I am with the results," Jacobs told WWD. "Now I want to see what the customer thinks. That's the ultimate."

Who Will Be the Next Creative Director at Coach?

Even though Emma Hill's departure from Mulberry was announced mere hours ago, there are already rumors as to where she's going next.

Even though Emma Hill's departure from Mulberry was announced mere hours ago, there are already rumors as to where she's going next. At the top of the list? WWD is speculating that Hill may journey stateside to succeed Reed Krakoff as the next creative director of Coach.

And why shouldn't she? Hill has spent the past six years creating some of the most iconic bags on the accessories market — the Alexa and the new Willow tote, just to name a few — while also producing season after season of stunning ready-to-wear. Coach is looking to expand beyond simply accessories and outerwear into a full-fledged lifestyle brand — Emma Hill could be exactly what Coach is looking for. But she is not the only designer in the running. A look at who else we wouldn't mind seeing take the job, right after the jump.

Marc Jacobs Resort 2014

The "comfortable glamour" dress code remained a constant at Marc Jacobs, right down to the return of the silky pajamas motif. And this time around, the relaxed silhouettes on top came paired with glittering jackets and dainty floral-printed A-line skirts; or were traded in altogether for looser, albeit shimmery, evening dresses.

Instead of hinting at the season ahead, Jacobs's Resort 2014 felt like a reinvention of past collection favorites. Think hip-slung skirts and crop tops á la Spring 2013 and slinky slip dresses from Fall 2013 to start. But with the "old," came the new, and the Resort tone took hold in punchy Breton stripes (present on everything from oversize-lapel coats to mini tank dresses) and lug-sole, crisscross sandals — a not-so-subtle play on Summer's go-to nautical theme.

CFDA Awards: Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie was gilded and gorgeous — and a little on the sexier side — for tonight's CFDA red carpet. Thanks to a revealing cut, Richie's gold lamé Marc Jacobs gown showed just a hint of cleavage at the side, but she kept the look more fashion insider than disco queen, opting for just a white satin clutch and a few well-placed gold jewels to finish. Are you impressed?

Jennifer Aniston was decked out in a short, summery dress alongside her own fiancé, Justin Theroux. Justin, who is good friends with Scott, appeared to be part of the wedding party and, at one point, was in charge of tending to the couple's dogs. Lance Armstrong is close with Scott as well and tweeted his excitement about the nuptials before heading to the big event. Cameron Diaz looked like she had some official duties to help out her friend and What Happens in Vegas costar Lake. Kate Bosworth, who also worked with Lake in Black Rock, had her man, Michael Polish, as her date. Who else was in attendance? Marc Jacobs, Eva Longoria, Josh Hartnett, and Alicia Silverstone, to name a few.

Lake wore a custom Marchesa Couture gown, and Scott was in Marc Jacobs. Lake and Scott met on the set of How to Make It in America in 2011 and got engaged in 2012. Click through to see all the stars at Lake and Scott's wedding — congrats to the happy couple!

Designers Who Aren't Marc Jacobs Taking Over Marc by Marc Jacobs

For the first time since Marc by Marc Jacobs was founded in 2000, someone who isn't named Marc Jacobs will be in creative control of the brand.

For the first time since Marc by Marc Jacobs was founded in 2000, someone who isn't named Marc Jacobs will be in creative control of the brand.

Jacobs and his business partner, Robert Duffy, announced today that they've hired British designer Katie Hillier as the new creative director of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Hillier, who Duffy told WWD "is allowed to staff the team any way she wants," has in turn hired fellow designer Luella Bartley as design director for women's ready-to-wear.

Hillier had been freelancing for Marc by Marc Jacobs for a decade before joining the team in a full-time capacity, designing everything from watches, jewelry, and handbags. Bartley designed her own line, called Luella, from 1999 to 2009.

Duffy said Jacobs is "still the boss" — he will still be an advisor, but will focus mostly on his mainline and duties with Louis Vuitton — and added that the menswear team will continue to report to its current leader, Karl Aberg. But Duffy also noted that he wanted to shake things up at Marc by Marc Jacobs because things were "getting a little stale."

"We have an issue with the ready-to-wear. I knew it because I pay very close attention to company-owned retail stores and I knew what was happening. We started out really strong in denim, and then we just let it go."

But the company seems confident that some new blood will help turn things around.

"I am very excited to have Katie here in her new role," Jacobs said. "Her creativity and energy inspires me and everybody she works with. She is a great leader. She is a team player and a great friend to Robert and me."
