Would you dare to teeter in this Marc Jacobs Surrealist Patent Pump ($545)? And are they unique or just plain weird?

Q. Is this something he design before or after his last rehab visit? It seems tired, things you do when you're burned out, but haven't realized it yet. I ask because I know they show the seasons so far ahead so I wonder if this is something he designed in say late spring 07?
No way. It looks painful. Does that even give you good support?
Maybe it's just me, but I like surrealist paintings and not clothes. You could probably only wear these at home when you're completely safe and not in any sort of danger, since I don't know if you could run, let alone walk, in these shoes. (Yeah, call me paranoid, but that's what you get when you grow up in a big city...you think about weird stuff like 'will I be able to run in these if I need to?')
This to me should be classified under "when designers just get plain ridiculous".
It's not just Marc Jacobs they were a bunch of designers that had these wacko shoes for spring. I just chalk it up to be so fab u lous that they are out of touch with reality and therefore don't know that women actually have to walk in these shoes they aren't just pretty pieces of art for your feet
hmm,i'm still undecided..i wanna see how is it if it's worn by someone..and from there i can tell if it's a pain or something..
I think they are ugly!!! Looks like someone didn't know how to put together a shoe!
I think they are really cute..and in heels you are supposed to walk on your toes anyway...so how could it be any more painful?
Personally, I would never wear them, but I agree with Zari... I would definitely have to see someone walk in them before I gave them the hate stamp.
hate it. it's just ugly!
em1282: Agreed. Just because I am in love with Dali's paintings doesnt mean I want it to be reflected on clothes/shoes..there is way for a shoe to look artistic and functional at the same time. This is just not it. I kinda want to try them on though..just to see how it will work? LOL
I looks crazy, No way!
Well in heels you at least have the support of an actual heel where your foot heel is. Yeah, you walk on your toes, but it's still a heel-toe motion when you walk in heels. I don't know how anyone could wear these.
How the...
I'm like dude what the fug???
I think there a kinda ok idea to put on fashionista barbie (the doll) but until I see an actual person walking and functioning in these (not just wearing them) I hate them.
I would love seeing someone else wear them, respect for them...but i dont think I could pull it off
These are horrible. I haven't been liking any of his stuff that you've featured on here lately, Fab.
He's had a couple that had this effect to them. It's ugly and not functional. Heels are not actually good for your legs and back as they are (although we all LOVE them...) and these are unsupported.
i know it looks really weird. and i HATED it when i first saw it, but the sales associate insisted that i try it on and it actually looks really cute on the foot.
i really like the beige and black version with the spring at the toe!
is not matter of ugly or cute anymore, imagine how painfull to wear this shoes are...
Finally I get to have a say on these hideous shoes! I'm so tempted to walk into the Marc Jacobs store a block away and... well, I don't know what, but I despise these ugly shoes with a passion.
I'm undecided because yes, it's a differnt look but is it comfortable to walk in? Any shoe you have to fight to walk in loses fab points with me.
Not for me.
Total rip-off of Jan Jansen.
He was doing that thing in the 70's. Try again, Marc.
I love it.
OUCH!!
those look
painfully
awful !!
Yuck! Nty.
I don't like it but it is cutting edge. Looks uncomfortable but avant garde.
I love black patent leather shoes, but these look impossible to walk in. I like my shoes to have some support in them.
I love that he's/they're so crazy and bizarre. So in a way, it's awesome as art. But not awesome as a consumer product.
I like the fact that the designers are trying something enw. But I don't think this is very practical. Where's the heel support? I don't think anyone can last wearing this the whole day.
Yeah this isn't terrible innovative. Like someone said earlier, Jan Jensen has been all about the "floating wedge" for decades.
*terribly innovative
Wasn't there a another Love It or Hate It poll awhile back with similar shoes? Or were the the same?
I would never wear these, they look really hard to walk in.
I adore these! If only I had the cash...
i like it. but i wont wear it. anyway i can't even afford it!
i've seen a similar looking pair from Thailand back in mid 2007. check our blog to see the pics. popshionista.blogspot.com.
Nope, and Im MJ fan but nope!!!!
I LOVE MK BUT UHHHH NOPE NOT THIS HIDEOUS THING ITS LIKE WTF?
call me dumb but, wheres the heel?:/
That just looks way too weird.
These scare me. I think I'd fall backwards if I tried walking in them!
SCARY!!!!!
O YEA AND THEY LOOK PAINFUL.
