Matthew Williamson Spring 2013
Tinged with vibrant Indian-inspired references, Matthew Williamson crafted his 15th anniversary collection to embody three key elements: color, print, and embellishment. With that in mind, Williamson certainly didn't shy away from vibrancy — you'll see everything from beaded prints on leather miniskirts, styled with silky landscape-printed blouses, to orange drip-dye caftan-style dresses punched up with long tasseled necklaces. It may be a Spring assortment of bold pieces, but there's something intrinsically wearable about it, too. The loudness of each dress, cropped trouser, and flowy top doesn't actually overwhelm the style senses like you may think it would. To finish off the parade of color, Williamson sent out a series of showstopping red carpet-worthy gowns — complete with feminine draping, intricate sparkly embellishments, and sexier leg slits.
- Trends: Drip-dye colorways, beaded embellishments, and kaleidoscope prints.
- Colors: Turquoise, fuchsia pink, coral pink, citron, orange, cerulean blue, periwinkle, and nude.
- Key Piece: The lushly printed cropped trousers scream "wear me in the springtime," but we're also obsessed with the floor-grazing gowns that closed the show.
- Accessories: Long tasseled necklaces, beaded belts, ultra-embellished bags, and platform sandals.
- Who Should Wear It: Matthew Williamson has accrued quite the Brit-beauty following, but of the pack, we envision Cat Deeley and Sienna Miller donning these vibrant pieces most. If we're lucky, we'd love to spot Kate Middleton in one of the bold evening gowns, too.
