Mexico Fashion Week: Marvin y Quetzal Spring 2009

Oct 27 2008 - 7:01am

Following the untimely and unfortunate death of Quetzalcoatl Rangel Sanchez, the Marvin [1] y Quetzal Spring 09 collection revealed just why Mexico Fashion Week [2] is worth watching in the first place. The attitude of the collection was both defiant (fringe jumpsuits for boys [3]) and celebratory (neon and revealing [4]) and it called up androgyny without needing tweed suits or porkpie hats. Mexico fashion, to us, is very skilled at these things and Marvin y Quetzal has always proven our point. Check out the Spring 09 collection below, and our video and review of the Fall 08 collection, right here [5]. In the United States, you can buy Marvin y Quetzal (and some other great Mexican designers) at New High (M)art [6] in Los Angeles.
