Michelle Obama Picks Jason Wu For Inaugural Ball Gown — Again!

Michelle Obama has actually managed to outdo herself in one fell, custom ruby-red Jason Wu gown, er, swoop. Yes, the FLOTUS has stayed loyal to the young American designer who was behind her ethereal white Inaugural Ball gown four years ago, and the creation at hand is just as stunning. The chiffon-and-velvet halter-style gown, complete with a subtly sexy V-shaped back and a custom Kimberly McDonald diamond halter ring at the neckline, isn't lacking in all-American glamour. In addition, Michelle donned Jimmy Choo heels and a wristful of gold bangles. This latest ensemble, albeit the most formal, comes at the end of a long day of history-making outfits. We first spotted the FLOTUS leaving St. John's Church in a navy printed Thom Browne coat (dress not visible!), along with black J.Crew pumps and Cathy Waterman diamond stud earrings. Along the way, she punched it up with a seriously embellished J.Crew waist belt, proving her continued prowess in the outfit-revamp department. And her third look, at the inaugural luncheon, was perfectly polished (read: a striped Thom Browne sheath partnered with a cropped blue Reed Krakoff cardigan).
