Missoni Stone Embellished Necklace: Love It or Hate It?

I pretty much love everything Missoni does, but this Missoni Stone Embellished Necklace ($1,465) is freaky. It reminds me of an alien creature. I feel like it would be activated when putting it on, and that wouldn't be a good thing. Statement piece or scary piece?

It just gave me a orthodontist nightmare flashback. I was traumatized by headgear as a adolescent. My mom wouldn't let me shave my legs until I was 12 and I had to wear headgear...this reminds me of that awful summer
