The title of Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2015 Bridal collection might as well have been what any bride would call a wedding gown from the designer: "My Ethereal Daydream." From clouds of tulle to tiers of signature Chantilly lace, from cascading hemlines to architectural silhouettes, each dress captured Lhuillier's whimsical vision.
This whimsy took true form in color. Among a smooth palette of silk whites and classic ivories, there were subtle shades of pistachio-green, blush, and even a little something blue — in the form of a hydrangea-hued gown that stood out from the pack. And yet, the smallest details weren't forgotten: elaborately jeweled headpieces, effortlessly draped veils, and silver ankle booties made this collection not just about the dress.
And one by one, each bride took her place on a stark set straight out of a John Singer Sargent portrait, which was Lhullier's dream after all.
