NY Fashion Week: Diane Von Furstenberg


If you love dresses, you're in luck, because they were in abundance at Diane Von Furstenberg's Spring 2007 runway show at New York Fashion Week on Sunday afternoon. The bad news? If you like your dresses to hug your curves, you're going to have to wait around for another season. Because even DVF—the queen of the form-fitting wrap—is embracing the big dress trend, focusing on loose-fitting, boxy styles and mod-inspired sheaths.

There are some things I really love from this line: the big, bold floral and geometric prints; the slouchy, off-the-shoulder necklines; and bubble miniskirts. Not to mention the dresses with pockets! But I was disappointed to see the persistence of animal prints (in day-glow colors, no less) and sack-like dresses that don't even flatter on the models.
