Stars like Mischa Barton and Victoria Beckham showed up Wednesday afternoon to admire the hippie-chic designs of Brit Matthew Williamson, and I can understand why. His technicolor Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week was a bold departure from what I've seen on the other runways. A collection this daring is bound to have its highs and lows, but it's refreshing nonetheless.
I loved the lily-pad print dresses, the coupling of red and coral, and the geometric-print sequined sweaters. However, there was also plenty I could have done without—namely, a leggings-and-long tee ensemble that looked like something I would have worn to bed in the 1980s. There was also some rather unappetizing pattern mixing that was going on, but all in all, it was pretty damn cute. To see all of Fabsugar's Fashion Week coverage, click here. Hmmm, yah I don't like it. But its nice to see something unique.
1It's nice to NOT see these models' underpants.
2I like some of the outfits.
3I have changed my mind. My favourite designer this fashion week was Luca Luca but now it is Matthew Williamson...the colours, the style...I just wish I could afford them.
4I loove the sequin tops. Fabulous.
