New Designers to Watch 2012

Who: Jonathan William (J.W.) Anderson

What: Cool, laid-back, borrowed-from-the-boys wardrobe staples; iconic menswear shapes re-imagined for women and done in sleek, architectural lines and signature prints like plaid and paisley.

Why: An Irish-born, London-bred trained actor, J.W. has a multitude of talents (and isn't too bad on the eyes, either). He began his career in accessories, then quickly morphed into menswear and womenswear since 2010. He's collaborated with high-street darlings like Aldo and Topshop, and his celebrity clientele includes Emma Watson and Tilda Swinton — as well as the ultimate boy-meets-girl style star, Alexa Chung. We're hoping to see more of his modern classics during London Fashion Week this season.
