New York Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Badgley Mischka

At Badgley Mischka, the 20's was the muse decade. Populating the runway were art deco dresses, dropped waists, and so much black and white Coco Chanel would have been proud.
While they may have been channeling Chanel, the collection remained recognizable as Badgley Mischka. As new cover girl Teri Hatcher sat front row, long blue striped Grecian gowns, ombre cocktail dresses, and plenty of embellished prints strode past.
Between the two influences, 20s on the one hand and the Badgley Mischka aesthetic on the other, the collection lacked a bit of coherence. And I have to say, I'm partial to the Jazz Age-inspired portion rather than the typical Badgley Mischka fare. But overall, between the two, the Badgley Mischka fan gets a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
