New York Fashion Week Trend Alert: Strategic Sparkles
I'm addicted to sparkle. No sparkle gets past me. On
the New York runways I witnessed various
strategic sparkles. Sequins, beading, pailletes, and rhinestones provided a mini punch strategically placed on shoulders, lapels, waists, and sleeves. This is the ideal way to tackle sparkle without feeling overkill. Shoulders were the most popular; notice the cool contrast of this black sparkly cluster atop Akiko Ogawa's femme pink sweater.

I'm loving the sparkles i've been seeing in Fashion Week, and I agree that the more strategic ones, aka, not overpowering sparkles, are still the most affective. Sparkles and shimmers and the like can be used as a tool to attract the eyes attention to a certain part of the clothing, or to a certain part of the body, whichever is in need of more attention! Love the Akiko sweater, contrast is done very neatly.
1I love the sweater
2I'm completely in love with the outfit
