On Our Radar: Heidi Montag, Fashion Designer

Heidi of The Hills fame is taking a page out of costar Lauren Conrad's book by designing her own line of clothing.

Heidi just inked a deal earlier this week to be the face of boutique chain Anchor Blue in 2008. She will also design three seasons of clothing for the brand, focusing on young women's contemporary clothes like jeans, T-shirts, tops, and accessories. The clothes are expected to be in store February 2008.

snoooooooooooort. no, wait, make that SNOOOOOOOOOORRRRT. i dont even know what to say other than i should have my friend be on a reality show and and be the "evil bitch character" and then maybe i can have a fashion line/music career too! maybe i could also go to space while im at it. and definitely make a perfume. after all, everybody is making a fragrance nowadays. because of COURSE heidi is definitely better suited to design than well, any of the aspiring designers out there, who went to school and worked crappy long hour 7 day work weeks for no money and then crappy long hour 7 day work weeks for very little money in the hopes of fufilling their dreams. (that would be me, and a whole bunch of other people). at least lauren always wanted to be a designer, even back in laguna beach. oh, and unless its in production already (which it probably is), it will have to be basics. and i doubt shes desiging the stuff as much as signing off on it as being ok, like every other licensing deal.

I'll have to check it out. Lauren's line is ridiculously cliche, and sickening over priced. If Heidi's is neither, I might check it out. Big MIGHT. :)

I was so unimpressed by Lauren's collection too. But this whole thing by Heidi just smacks of "Oh yeah? Anything you can do, Lauren... I can do better! nyah nyah" pettiness.

Ugh, lame! But Lauren's line was pretty bad imo, it was so boring and nothing was really original in it. But than again Lauren is pretty boring herself. I can't imagine Heidi's being any better.

this is just getting ridiculous. at least lauren is a fashion student, but heidi dropped out like on day one. this is really discouraging for fashion students like me. its already a hard hard world out there, without those already sucessfull people designing clothes.

Ohh I am famous let me have some ghost designer make something that looks like a other designers work and stamp my logo allll over it. Then let me sell if for 3 times what it actually is worth!.

Am I the only one who is sick of celebrity clothing lines? And in this case I guess the term "celebrity" is relative. It seems like we can't go a week without some celebrity announcing they're designing a line. Enough already!

Really? Why? I wouldn't buy Hedi's or Laurens clothes. These are two chicks who made it big by making akward small talk on a reality t.v show. You seriously think they should be famous? Or even have a clothing line, I am gonna stop here cause this is making so fustrated I can't think right!

Are you serious??!! I don't take anything Heidi does seriously. She just taking an opporunity becuz Spencer hypes her up for it. Hey, I'm not knocking her (or him) for trying to make a buck. But inorder for the line to be open to buy by Feb '08, it must be a line of basics. I know the sourcing liason for Anchor Blue, and the only way they can get the line designed, sampled, source the fabric and trim, have it manufactured, shipped, and in stores by Feb. is if it is made here in L.A. . . .which means the cost for each garment will be higher . . .thus the retail price will be higher. SO a pair of her jeans will be $50-$60 bucks, versus the average $ 30 pair AB sells.

This girl has yet to come up with an decent outfit in her life. Yet, she is going to design clothes. Anyhoo, the LC collection is fab and I cannot wait to see the rest of the collection. Heidiwood apparently is for a company that makes clothes cheaper looking than rave stuff, if that is possible.

1st she wants to act, then sing, now this?? what ELSE does she suck at? I have that dress in black...NOT THAT SAME DRESS but very similar. got it at a local boutique here in my hood. They're everywhere.

i really really dislike her... and I think she is so cheesey. i would NOT buy anything she had her name on. Although... lauren ws pretty brutal with her in the last episode. she deserves it though I guess
