If you've ever planned a wedding, are currently planning a wedding, or have watched any shows about celebrity weddings, then you probably recognize the name of celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss. The petite brunette, who has worked with Gwen Stefani and Eva Longoria Parker, has paired up with Piperlime to offer genius shoe advice to bride-to-bes. She suggests buying two types of footwear for your big day: a fantasy shoe and a reality shoe. I know what you're thinking: "As if one shoe isn't costly enough, now I have to buy two?"
To follow Mindy's logic, read more
The fantasy shoe is the dramatic one you'll walk down the aisle in. It can be as tall as you wish because you won't be dancing in it. The reality shoe is the one you'll wear at the reception, so make sure it's comfy. It can be flat or have a kitten heel. Does this sound good to you? Then get more tips from Mindy!

Fabulous, Piperlime continues to impress me.
1Awesome!
2makes sense to me!
3makes complete sense!!
4What I find interesting is that on this website you link to one of her tips is: “Strap in. Slingbacks can be hard to keep on the foot, so pick a pump or something that goes around the ankle”
5Most of her 'reality' shoes (the ones you dance in) have no ankle straps. I think I'd rather walk in shoes w/out ankle straps than try to dance all night long in them... IDK ... just a thought and observation I had! lol
OMG, I have been looking for my wedding shoes for months and haven't found a single pair anywhere. You cannot believe the poor selection. Not a fan of these, so my search continues.
Although, I will vouch for the BCBG pair that I already own. They have padding in the shoe and the strap doesn't rub. Very comfortable. It is on sale on other sites though.

6That's exactly what I was about to say, kiki. You can't dance in backless shoes!
I spent a long time trying to find low heels with backs to them because a) my fiance is about my height and b) we intend to rumba, which is not something that should be done without backs on your shoes. It was impossible.
7I wore hot pink strappy kate spade shoes with four inch heels at my wedding - and I wore them from 11am until 1am, and danced the whole time... and didn't need other shoes!
8(in fact, the shoes I wore to my wedding are the shoes in my profile picture)
