Original use as a plume of feathers on hat. Current use to note an individual with "style" and fashion individuality. Of French origin.

Many fashionistas look up to the likes of Cate Blanchett, Kate Moss and the Olsens for their great panache.

I was waiting for someone to do a love it or hate it on this dress! Cate Blanchett has panache, but not in this odd number! it squishes her boobs flat and then pulls them down! my goodness, how did she escape outside in this thing?
