Paul & Joe Awa Bow Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Paul & Joe's resort collection has just arrived at Shopbop and I am sort of liking Paul & Joe's Awa Bow Dress ($341). Even though the voluminous sleeves can be trendy, Nina Garcia says in her Little Black Book of Style to buy with drama sometimes. Still, I wouldn't pay that much for a faddish dress. Maybe when it goes on sale? What do you think?

That reminds me far too much of Andie's dress at the end of Pretty in Pink, and I think we can all agree that Andie made a terrible, terrible prom dress . . .

Ewww!! This reminds me of that I Love Lucy episode when Lucy tries to make her own dress... So funny! Plus it's completely shapeless... Blech.

yeah... it needs the waist cinched. but those sleeves are a little too couture for a ready to wear outfit. that just isn't easily translated to something i could wear...

Also I agree with maybe cinching the waste. A figure could get really lost in this...maybe add a skinny belt?

haha I am SO outnumbered but I actually like it! It is punkish and 80's....and cute! I think it would be fun if it was paired with simple hair/makeup and killer shoes (let the dress be the statement and keep everything else low key). The 80's are back, and I prefer something like this over leggings and leg warmers. Plus, I like how the inside of the puffy sleeves are a different color. Cuteeee
