Leighton Meester in Bright, Oversize Houndstooth: Love It or Hate It?

Leighton Meester is no stranger to pushing the fashion envelope. For the screening of 500 Days of Summer in NYC, the Gossip Girl donned an oversize houndstooth shift dress and slick snakeskin peep-toe booties. The red and purple combo is a bold choice — I love it — but I think strappy sandals would look better with this outfit. What do you think of her in-your-face ensemble?

i love this look! Purple is my fav color and even though red is more near the bottom, middle of my color list i like it with purple! it would look better with a thick black belt around the waist with mabe a silver studed black bracelet 4 that rocker look! sumtin could also b done about that hair...maybe a little bit of side bangs? hmmmmmmmmmmm

i love it! especially the colors i love red with purple. Purple is my fav color! red, not so much however i like it with the purple. would probably look better if it had a thick black belt around the waist; and even possibly a silver studded bracelet (black) 2 go 4 that rocker look!

i like the colors and the indigo color of the booties. maybe a necklace or if the neckline were a tan bit lower/bejewled then it'd look really good. i don't think she looks horrendous though.

Her booties are fabulous, and the dress fits her nicely. I am not a huge fan of the big print on the dress because I think it is too overpowering and not that flattering. I also wish the neck line was a bit lower.

I voted that I don't like it only bc I wish it had a low collar. It just looks overwhelming w. the high collar but I like the dress in general. Don't care for the hair...

I normally hate peep toe booties, but I think these, the dress, and Leighton are fabulous! the only thing I don't like is that her hair back coupled with the high collar of the dress makes her neck look really short and wierd. but I love the dress and the shoes; and I think it all works well together...
