Claire Danes in Colorblock Valentino: Love It or Hate It?

We've been seeing a lot of Claire Danes and a lot of Valentino lately — separate and together. Up until now the high-fashion combo has been delightful. Claire wore this pink and lavender ruched and draped dress with a green side stripe in Italy over the weekend. Claire's smile always dazzles, but this frock is not your typical girlie choice. Nude shoes were a good call, but was the dress?

she looks great!! but the dress isn't something I'd pull from any closet...I want the sleeves removed and I don't particularly like the placement of the green stripe on the dress...so I'll go with undecided

I agree with everyone else - she looks great and the dress is almost on par but the sleeve kills it. The green stripe isn't great, either, but take away the sleeve and I like the dress. She does look "radiant" - happy, confident, feeling the look; I'm guessing marriage to the delectable Hugh Dancy doesn't hurt...

You usually expect a certain level of craftsmanship from the Haute Couture pieces, but on this one - particularly in the sleeve and the green stripe/band/ribbon-thing/after-thought - it just isn't there. She looks like she's enjoying herself though, and nothing can beat that.

I usually love what Claire wears to events. I think this is too busy. Maybe without the sleeve it would have been interesting. I think what I generally like about her style is the simplicity...I'm actually sort of surprised to see her in something like this.
